Great advice. I'm a guitar played but have also played keys and bass in bands 30 odd years ago. When I had to play keys, I would hold down a note on the synth with my left hand and play 2 or 3 note chords with my right. That way, I didn't clash with anyone, and it filled out the sound quite well. Also, bands where I live rarely have keyboards, so play a lot of songs that don't use keys. Doing the above works well for this too.

I'm not ready to play in a band but I do play at Costco. In fact my Lady Madonna has gone viral with 137K views in 3 weeks. I'm shocked and I don't know why but I'm enjoying it. Thank you. 👍

Excellent instruction! I once played in a band where the other keyboard player was a classical pianist who was used to playing EVERYTHING! It caused problems.

Bands are a lot of fun.Its the greatest feeling in the world playing in a band that plays well together. The sad thing is it just takes one person to ruin it for everybody.

More then 50 years ago we founded our first band with my friend. But we played not so long. And then I played with another guys but not permanent. All tips are right. Now I play at home standalone using backingtracs
