It doesn’t really matter. The Pokémon company knows that their fan base is just children or nostalgic grown men trying to relive their childhood. They can literally develop a game with nothing special and you guys will still buy it. Let’s be real. Everyone just buys Pokémon because of the name.

Onix is bad because of gen1 game design. its not meant to be used its meant to show you growth early one its a hard mon to take down and lategame its useless and falls over to any special attack. it's supposed to show the growth of the player and his or her pokemon. none of that applies to torpius. toprius just has 20 to little in every stat. unironically torpius is arguably the best pokemon in gen9 random battles the most played format on pokmeon showdown. lots of teams just have no out to it.

I’ve seriously used three of these Pokemon on Emerald teams in serious play throughs. Team one was Blaziken, Delcatty, Exploud (shiny), Walrein, Swalot, and Tropius; Swalot was decent while Tropius was trash. Team two was Sceptile, Peliper, Slaking, Whiscash, Banette, and Castform; this has to be one of the best teams I’ve used in any Pokemon game. Castform was surprisingly a beast in my experience!

I have to speak my truth: Purugly is one of my favorite pokemon, up there with Liepard. I never got the hate, it’s SUPPOSED to be ugly.

You should do this with the gen 5 games

Purugly cant use strength. I swear how they give out HMs makes no sense. Rhydon a Pokémon 4x weak to water can surf but a big cat cant use strength.

is still funny to see Pokemon fans add the speed-up as the Solution to slow battles, instead of actually fixing the issue by doing what every other RPG does & NOT have every single step of the turn be its own text box. trust me, you can absolutely see the "it's super effective" while the attack animation hits & you see the damage number fly out the hurt animation. 4:26 see? literally called it. Pokemon fans are expert in missing the forest for the Tree

So guess someone already told u but crit in gen one is based on speed and if you do crit do not apply buff that's why sandslash did not that much damaged. Also I don't know in this hack but probably doesn't have difference between special attack and defence which make some Pokémon much more stronger

I actually did use Carnivine on my first playthrough of Diamond, along with Skuntank. My weirdest choice for a first playthrough still goes to Sun, however, where I used a Parasect purely because it was shiny. I also used a shiny Palossand in my first run of Scarlet. You remember the real ones.

If it's a gen 1 hack then it probably uses gen 1 crit mechanics, which are influenced by speed. High level Persians and Dugtrios using higher crit rate moves like slash would only not crit in the 1/256 chance that any move would miss.

Sound being super effective to water make sense... Sound Waves can actually make water move. i did 2 runs of this and that's the only thing i learned about the new types togehter with "Abnormal" which is Porygon's typing being super effective against Normal but weak against Flying

The hack is based on Pokemon red, so the game mechanics are from gen1. Gen1 is notorious for many mechanics to be weird such as Critical Hits. First the Crit Chance is based on the pokemon's base Speed stat, so the faster pokemon have bigger crit chances. Second, Crits ignore all stat changes, even your own boosts from Swords Dance. So that's why Sandslash's Slash did that little
