A bit concerned that he leaves his Senate seat open. Generally, I am not fond of elected officials who have done really well by their constituents (conservative I mean) and are currently in office to campaign for another office. If Bishops Williamson and Sanborn aren’t bishops, then all the priests they ordained aren’t priests, and for that matter, the priests ordained by Archbishop LeFebvre after his invalid excommunication aren’t priests, either.

I suspect they are simply trying to distance themesleves from any scandal because they are seeking papal permission to issue more Bishops as their 3 are very old now and so seems in the same position that led to Lefebvre making the executive decision to do what he did because the Church was clearly in crisis and required Biahops to continue the lineage . The next 10years will see the SSPX have to make some tough decisions once again if the current Latin Mass banning leadership refuses to allow them to install new Bishops. No wonder our lady said in our times to receive the sacrament of confirmation will be difficult. Without Bishops it will be difficult

You sure u want to commend Bishop Sheen on this channel as he in the 1950's wanted a detente with Orthodox and Protestants and commended Protestants for their number of commentaries on Scripture that were written for the average lay person. Of course, the Vatican II document Dei Verbum, my favorite has resulted in an increase in Biblical catechesis for those Catholics who attend Mass weekly (as I do). I will also point that Bishop Sheen was in communion with Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul I (for only 33 days) and Pope John Paul II the last 14 months of his life.

@PalermoTrapani I understand, but just as we see that pope Benedict changed his view in later years I believe that archbishop Sheen would be calling out Bergoglio also! Less we forget, archbishop Carlo Marie vigano was in communion with the church in the early days of Vatican 2 also! Good men, no matter where they are let's say today, they always see the truth in God's time! Like me!

@@lyndapisano6373 Yes I understand Abp. Vigano was as well. But Bishop Sheen never did what Vigano did. There are indeed legitimate ways to challenge and question say Vatican II documents are any Papal encyclical but one should do it in a fashion that does not result in Schism. I am aware this is an SSPV channel, who broke from the SSPX. Vatican II did not contain any Supreme Acts of the Magesterium that is 100% true, but the texts would fall under some aspect of ordinary magisterium although some of those would be more authoritative, thus while requiring assent of the mind and will, are not binding. Thus one could ? some of the text, if done charitably and thus rather than not be in communion with the Entire Church, work to clarify some of the texts, etc. I am a Catholic that you guys call Post Conciliar Catholic. But there is no Dogma or Doctrine that you hold that I do not hold. I think the Church should allow for the celebration of the Roman Liturgy in the Pre-conciliar Form but using it as a wedge against other Liturgies that the Church allows (there are others besides the Liturgy based on Pope Pius V in the Latin Church such as Ambrosian, Mozarabic, Bregan, and the Rites of the Carthusians, Benedictines, Norbetines and Dominicans). There is also the Anglican Ordinariate Liturgy which is Liturgy using very poetic English from the Anglican Liturgy and is a hybrid of both the Pre-Conciliar and Post Conciliar Roman Rite. My understanding is that Pope Benedict gave them permission to restore the Sarum Rite but they declined. So my prayer is for restoration of all Catholics back into one fold. Cheers and God Bless

@PalermoTrapani I agree. I think that all of us get caught up in the legalism of certain aspects of our faith. To me, I really do believe that the church because of Vatican 2 has been almost 100% watered down to the point that it is exactly what the modernist intended it to be. A church for whatever! A church for cafeteria buffets! But like Christ, condemning the saducees for their rigid laws and missing the beauty of the law we ourselves do the same thing! For the most part if the church would have stayed in the pre 55 Missal or 45 (fr. Lasance) none of this would be going on! Stay true to the faith of our fathers and things that are irrelevant to our salvation can be discussed but never to separate us as true catholics! I know nobody but Christ himself has been perfect throughout the history of the church. We all live in an imperfect world with imperfect minds. Stick to charity and God's love and we will endure to the end. But I can certainly say, the novus ordo will not get us there!
