Thank you so much for this brilliant video - and I was thinking that I didn't need my Sizzix any more! Although I don't seem to be able to cultivate many flowers in my Florida garden - at least not the ones I want! - I have loads of ferns and foliage around me. I just love this idea and am itching to start printing on my hundreds of beginner get prints, which are, if I'm honest, not so wonderful. Add a layer of botanical prints and I think they will become wonderful!

Great little video. Especially liked the white gesso addition on the first page; &, with the second, I preferred some of the try outs - the pink initially seemed jarring, but it all came together at the end. Such is the magic of Art, we never know what might arrive on the page.🦋

I love this idea of keeping a journal of how you did the various techniques. I do the same thing, but I store all the technique recipe information in an electronic journal. For example, for an especially detailed technique, I take pictures after each step is done. Then I save the pictures to an electronic journal entry, with a description of the step with each picture as well as a picture of the final completed technique/project. There are several advantages using an electronic format - I can categorize each entry with various keywords, such as “Watercolor”, “Sewing”, “Fabric”, “Gel Print” and then use the keywords to search for techniques that use a particular feature, such as all my “Gel Print” related techniques. I can also include links to web pages and/or KZbin videos that were used as inspiration for the technique. I have over 500 technique recipes in my electronic journal and build more each week.

Wauuu Cindy, that sounds like a fantastic system! An electronic journal is such a great way to keep everything organized and easily searchable. Plus, having pictures at each step must be super helpful for reference! Thanks for sharing your process. loved reading it.

I have been writing notes in the last couple of weeks on what to do to improve my art, keep track of my processes and techniques and how to store this information as well as keeping an example of each 'product' I make, I felt that by doing this I would be able to remind myself of the techniques I have used and prefer and something to look at and work out how to improve the product and my designs, colour choices, sizing, additions and anything else my brain thinks of. I have memory loss so have to have like cue cards to remember. This is sort of what you are saying here. Amazing. This is very helpful to me. Thankyou

That journal was awesome! I keep a small journal with ideas I got from other you tube artists or books & magazines. I think the way you keep the journal with a sample is even better, because you have something to go along with the notes. I have drawn some of the ideas, but I still like your way better. Thank you! For sharing your journal it was very inspiring.

I love your technique journal! I wonder why I haven't thought of it myself because many times I've done projects and when looking back on them, have forgotten the techniques I used to achieve the outcome. Your technique journal is such a sensible, practical, excellent idea, and once thought of, so obvious! Thank you so much.

I use a file box system so I can keep media or techniques grouped. I do the notes and clip them to each piece. I recently got a stash of old file folders out of storage and placed card stock glued onto the expansion area like a book spine (1 in. average) so they could hold things easier without crushing the edges.
