I superglued Castrol caps to decoaxed 6x9 speakers to increase cone mass & lower Fs. 😂 i wanted more bass from the back, and only bass...it worked. There are many types of speakers available, and generally it is best to fit the speakers to the application, not the application to the speakers.

I'm looking to compare subs like the DynAudio 18s and Focal sub one to their single driver competitors. Any thoughts?

I would choose a sealed box for analytic listening like music production and mastering. If you use monitors in near field you don’t need much loudness capabilities. The difficulties with tuning a TM is damping the line in the right places to avoid resonances. There should remain an air gap between the damping materials for not slowing down the air by friction. The enclosure must be deep enough to have enough place for the damping materials. I would build a bigger acoustic suspension woofer instead, and it would still be smaller than the TM speaker.

Thanks for making that man! I literally search for this concept and your video was the first that popped up!! I didn't know if you could do this concept. With the intake port facing the front bottom of the couch and the exhaust port, facing the top back of the couch to make a air movement rap Around a coach for a crazy home theater experience.

Has anyone created a 4th order Bandpass enclosure, but on the ported chamber did two ports instead of one? I am having trouble finding information on such a build. Please & Thank you

I can tell you why big honcho manufacturers pushed this horrible dehumanizing trend. It's obvious that people don't even know anymore what nice and proper sound is. It's all down to profit the whole industry is after for. They can make more profit by selling cheap small product for the same price. This is why they ruined the whole wide world. I've noticed this by chance, pulled my old technics amp and 170w jamo speakers from the attic, hooked it up and immediately realized how better it all sounds compared to modern shaait system. It's just so this big manufacturers that monopolized the world can have even more profit. So, it's not gonna change anytime soon, that's for sure. This is worse than Hitler if you think of it. It will only get worse from now on, mark my words. Total dehumanization, all in the name of profits that are now better than life.

Bought a 6.5" Hybrid Audio I6SW sub on the strength of this video from PWK aka Hexibase kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJC0hqBvbMSegM0 which replaced my 12" DD subwoofer. For home audio, I'm rocking two Peerless SLS 6.5 in a T-line that I actually designed for a JBL GTO 804 8" sub.

I have designed a interchangeable box and port system for those of us who don't like to hear the same sound in our music over and over,besides depending on what you are playing,,rap,rock,theatre etc.--you want different outcome from your driver enclosure...maybe you could do a video on that someday...good work man...keep on.

16 square inch to 1 cubic foot does not work for lower wattage and lower dispacement sub woofers ? Dd 9.8 in Re 3.6 ohm qEs .75 qMs 2.36 vas 39 L Fs 32.3 hz Xmax 5.7 mm 380 watts RMS a tube port 3.63" diameter 29.92" length is enough to keep port velocity below 17 meters per second but its cross sectonal area is 10.32 suare inches going up to 16 square inches (4.513"x47.05") brings the port velocity below 11 meters a second

Hey Dakoustics, since you were able to fix the speaker, do you think you can fix my family life? My Dad left for milk 7 years ago and hasn't come back. He left the day he found out I have a vaporeon body pillow and that i do ERP as Golden Freddy. Please help

Some things can't so easily be fixed. An ideal alternative is to latch on to a father figure, ideally one you could weasel your way into the will of. Good luck Golden Freddy!

I've been a bass head for over 30 years. I've been building sealed and ported subwoofers and full range enclosures (bookshelves, towers, etc) all along. I understand this pretty well through trial and error, then after college, and the advent of the internet, I got pretty dangerous, but never liked reading and most youtubers have at least a small amount of ignorance and arrogance. This video seems really solid to me. Unlike college, i can go back and re-watch it as many times as it takes to sink in! Thank you very much!

I want my sub (Alto Professional TS18S 18-inch) to be peaking at 100Hz to emphasize the bass drum. How long should my port be? Any suggestions
@Bob-pd9ge4 ай бұрын
Keep in mind the air mass in the port moves about 4 times the travel of the woofer. So keeping the length long enough not to unload is impoortant
@fredy0003 ай бұрын
what if its too long, will it have a helmholtz and quarterwave resonance?

When i was a kid 12 or 13 yo i salvaged a 4 inch woofer that i used in cardboard boxes, it was nowhere near powerful enough but once i made a 6th order bandpass enclosure out of cardboard and it sounded like shit on almost every song but there was this one song (lil wayne - kush) and when it starts there is a very low bass note, and that shook the whole room, it didn't worked on any other song. It was really fun times, none of my friends thought building cardboard enclosures was fun. But i had the time of my life.
