Colorado in the fall is my absolute favorite season. It’s that special time of year when the trees change and leaves turn bright colors. And as a Colorado local, I often get asked where are the best places in Colorado to see vibrant fall colors.
So, in this video I’m sharing the top places in Colorado and best sights for seeing colorful fall foliage this year. Plus, I explain the best times of year to see fall in Colorado so you can plan your next trip.

Just found this by accident. I grew up in Durango, Ouray and Telluride. I loved the fishing, hunting, skiing, four-wheeling, camping, etc. Went to college in Gunnison and woked at a guest ranch in Lake City. Loved it.

@@HashtagColoradoLife I was in high school and worked two summers at the VC (Vaquero Conquistadores - cowboy conqueror) Guest Ranch. It was a resort for well off people. We had horses to ride, hiking trails, a lake with boats to rent, berbecus and some amazing chefs on staff. Plus, nearby there is Lake City with off-roading trails. We had Jeeps for rent as well. I got to meet Jock Mahoney who also worked there as second in command. He loved to go shoot skeet so my job was to keep his shotguns loaded and pull the handle releasing the skeet. He was tall. Not sure if the place is still operating as a guest ranch or not. A lot of rich people visited. The really well off people were very nice, most of the newly well off people were, well, Karens in today's term. One of the buests worked at MIT on LEDs and as a pasttime he showed us his invention. He would put in the boy's birthdate and the LEDs would flash around and the machine would make music. Then he would put in your girlfriend's birthdate (mostly we just had boys and girls back the and knew the difference). It would flash her lights and play her music. You would watch and listen to see if you were compatible. Corny, I know, but it was fun. Thanks for the reply. Blessings.

Thanks for only briefly mentioning where I'm moving to in Colorado. I'd like it to remain nice, like it is now. Definitely don't want a bunch of zombies migrating in and insisting the locals make it more like the dystopia they escaped from.

I visited Colorado twice and absolutely fell in love with it. I made it my dream to become Colorado resident and plant my roots there soon if not sooner. Great video. I can't wait to experience all that Colorado has to offer. Beautiful state .

If you loved Colorado I highly recommend visiting Alaska at least once in your life. From Alaska living in Colorado both are amazing, just too many people in Colorado for me

If you are there and near Telluride, they used to have a Coloride to Telluride. But head out to Ophir. The trees on both sides of the road are turning colors and and make a canopy. Also plan ahead and take the Durango to Silverton arrow gauge railroad. It is stunning.

Hard to list them all but Kebler Pass Crested Butte is super worthy. Several 3 hr hikes in nothing but yellow.

Anywhere really. Just be here anytime in late Sept to late Oct and you should be able to find some great fall colors!

Beautiful great video! I was planning to visit this fall but it’s not going to be next fall! I was thinking the last week of September but thinking I might move it to first week of October to be sure to see the foliage. Will be centred around Aspen, crested butte, Keebler pass - do you think first week of oct is a safe bet?

The recent predictions by the local news folks put this year's fall color a bit earlier (monsoons to blame). Their best guess for the Crested Butte / Aspen area prime color is Sept 22 - Oct 3. But there really is no way to predict mother nature and know for sure. And it's not like you would miss the color if you were a week late. It just wouldn't be that vibrant orange and more likely to find trees with the leaves already beginning to fall.

Oct is a GREAT time be here for fall color. Half way thru the month might be a bit late to see color in the northern or real high elevation parts of the state. But if you stick closer to the front range or southern CO, you will be in prime time for autumn tree change.
