Can you just imagine if every child were blessed with a loving caring Father as Tolkien was to his children? It's not just these Christmas letters. I saw an interview dated in the early 70's with Tolkien's children. They were old themselves at this point but my what a wonderful interview it was. They talked for several hours about their Father and just how he poured his life into his children as they were growing up. Not one single ill word spoken of him either. Tolkien was a Father first and a Genius of a Professor and Scholar second. Brilliant man. I'm so thankful he left us with the fascinating and wonderful stores and tales that he did. I never tire of reading his works either. I only wish I could have known Tolkien and Lewis both. They were two literary geniuses that are truly missed.

@@debbiesittard7653 that's wonderful to know. Yes based on these letters, he was a wonderful father. Also trying to navigate children through the horrors of WWII took tremendous empathy and love for sure. Thank you for your comment i enjoyed learning that about the professor 💜
