Why would an adult steal? Well. I need to eat, I need basic supplies and I need parts to fix things and finish projects. Without these things, I cannot carry on even this meger existence. I do not have the funds to acquire these things honestly. And I do need them. If I don't have them, everything stops and I do not eat. The reason I often steal, is the same reason I do anything illegal. In society, the machine which is our society breaks down quite often. Like very often, and you often can call the police to fix the machine, but quite often the police do not really do anything about the problem. So that leaves doing something illegal. Doing something illegal often starts the machine again. If you don't start the machine, (Think of it as a cement mixer) the concrete will dry on the machine and since you did not start it in a timely manner, the machine will become permanently damaged and there will be no way to fix it again. You have to keep society moving and making cement or else production will stop, people will not get products and services, the amount of waste in our food delivery system will grow, and possibly people will not be able to access goods and services that are quite fundamental and necessary to survival. I get 1450 per month from the disability office. My rent is 1350 plus two utilities at 50 each. That leaves me no money to spend on food or clothes, or entertainment, or security, or my health. I cannot get parts or anything that can be used as a tool to fix things. In reality, if you were in my situation you would probably be able to keep from doing it for a while, but realistically you probably could not carry on in the squalid conditions that you would be living in and you would break down and you would probably steal something to eat or clothes, or tools or Manny other necessities. If you think, well no, if I were you I would get an honest job and I would work for my money!!! No, this is not going to happen to you and if it does you will not last at the job very long. You see there is an abundance of foreign workers in all the shops and restaurants in our city and they sometimes get very underhanded in their methods to keep their job and have your employment terminated. I have had foreign workers question my mental health in order to oust me from my job, I have had a foreign worker blow up into repeated fits of rage due to not wanting to go back to the Phillipines because she was going to get laid off if I was there too. The conditions of work are quite horrible if I do say so myself. I am prone to getting bullied out of the workforce for nepotistic reasons. So as for the idea of simply going to work and paying for everything, it's just not going to happen.

Any Medical Personnel that Diagnosis a Child with ODD Should Loose Their License. ODD is BS Disorder and has NO Business Being in the DSM. ODD is a BS Disorder that Crooked Psychologists and Psychiatrists Give to Children Who Don't Put Up With Tyrants and Who Question "Authority" and Their Rules. Disobeying Tyrants and Questioning "Authority" and Questioning the Rules of "Authority" is in Our DNA as Americans. Children Do Not have ODD. Adults Do Not have ODD. Just Like Everyone Else I Didn’t Have a Problem with ALLEGED "Authority" Figures as a Child; My Problem was: 1) People Getting Into Business that's NONE of Their CONCERN. 2) People who THINK they had Authority over Me. 3) "Authority" Figures who were D1*k heads. 4) BS Rules and Polices. 5) I've Only had an Issue with One Cop as a Child (I Cussed Out the Sheriff of a Small County). Just Like Everyone Else; As an Adult: 1) I Don’t have Problems with Most "Authority" Figures (Like The GM or The DM of the Company I Work For). 2) I Have a Problem with Politicians (Everyone Does). 3) Crooked Cops Who are Not Held Accountable. 4) Unconstitutional Laws and Polices (Including Company Polices). 5) "Authority" Figures who are D1*k heads. 6) People who think they have "Authority" over Me. If You were Diagnosed with ODD (313.81 in the DSM-4) Like I was; Your Diagnosis is BS and If You have the Same Psychologist, Psychiatrist, or Therapist than You SHOULD Find a NEW One. DISOBEDIENCE to Tyrants IS OBEDIENCE to GOD!!!!

This video was very informative. It addressed transitional skills and also taught the students how transitions should look in the classroom. In addition, the teacher also taught the root word (trans- moving from one place to another). Also, the students were able to respond to her.

If I was in the audience, I would feel a bit patronised. These are teachers who have dealt with a lot of life experiences and don’t need to necessary be told basics of empathy etc, maybe reword it to what she needed to learn, rather than “you you”. Also ironic that the research that kids social and emotional scores predicted how they did later, BUT earlier she was saying that it’s the contexts and environments of the adults and teachers that determine their scores and functions in the first place. We have also learnt that race, gender, compromise to toxic systems etc effect “success”

Some of the stuff just sounds normal. Having a bad day and thus being cold, shut down or rude… Of course people are going to personalise that. Joking around is often a passive aggressive way of attacking people. Maybe we also need to hold people accountable for the messages that they give to those around them.

I’m 25 years old and my youngest sibling that’s 11 years old has been stealing my clothes. Today I found have of my wardrobe in her room. I started to notice first with period pads. Then it turned into my face products. I found everything today and now I don’t know if I can ever forgive her. She apologized but only after I took her iPad away as a punishment.

WOW! THAT Is So POWERFUL For FASD Victims. How In Your Expert Advice Would You View A FASD Being A FACTOR In Being Victimized By A Person Without FASD & Taking Advantage Of Such A Person With FASD & Accusing Them Of Abusing Them When Comes To Findout The Accuser Was In FACT The Missing Catalyst For A HUGE EXPLOSION Within The CJS. Wouldn't You Agree? All FASD The Chorological Age Vs The Mentality Age Is Very VAST. And FASD People Are VERY VERY Susceptible To Being Easily Led. Like Sheep To The Slaughter House.

Thank you for this channel. I stumbled upon it looking for help for myself. I’m a Special Education teacher at a boy’s PRTF in Connecticut. I’ve been teaching over 30 years in residential treatment facilities and most of what I’ve learned is by trial and error. I’m pretty sure I have PTSD. No joke. I’m binge watching these and other videos trying to unlock the code. I’m mentally and physically (and emotionally) exhausted. I’m attending a conference in July on trauma informed care in schools. I even saw a university that has a doctorate in education in traumatology. I might apply just so I can help other teachers.

Mom treated all the answers with a positive reenforcement. She would say something which had the meaning of “If you don’t do what I tell you I’m positive I will get you to pick out a switch.” Too many “disorders” today to explain away why children don’t follow rules. I am not a fan of switching as I don’t think hitting a child is very positive but stern punishment for bad choices and positive rewards for good choices teach kids the rules. Providing actual hard fast rules and answers provides road maps in the brain for children to make good quick choices. You were born a boy. You are a boy. You will do your homework or we can do it together or punishment. Doing homework and learning something are two different things. We must spend time with children to help them learn and to know whether or not they are actually learning. That way they know you actually care and children who feel loved are more apt to do what they are told and learn how to learn.

@shivamsharma70842 жыл бұрын
Stern punishment for bad choices is literally a bad idea (in this case) because these children have a disorder that impairs their ability to willingly, or purposefully do something.

The information about ADHD was presented in good faith, alas it is not entirely correct. An ADHD individual could have issues with executive functioning that can indeed cause them to have failure to retrieve encoded information. ADHD isn't just getting distracted by butterflies, there are serious EF problems that lead to struggles with attaining goals; both unimportant and trivial, and important life goals. Also, I hate to be that guy, but honestly I AM that guy... I know what you are trying to get across when you say "as we all know, ADHD is one of the most overdiagnosed mental illnesses, and also the most underdiagnosed" This is statistically an incoherent statement. You could say the symptoms are easily mistaken for other disorders and other disorders for it; but not only does that denote some level of misunderstanding what overdiagnosis means. Mistaking one disorder for another when symptoms would suggest someone has that illness is technically not an "overdiagnosis". It's a misdiagnosis. There are symptoms present, and they get mistaken for another illness. Over-diagnosis would be more on the "true" averages vs how much we diagnose and treat the illness. So if people are being misdiagnosed often, but a large portion of people who really DO have the condition are not getting diagnosed, that is not overdiagnosis.

People ARE overdiagnosed with ADHD for sure. Just like people who use phones as an unhealthy coping mechanism, often say they are 'addicted' to their phones, but in reality they don't have physiological or psychological dependence on it. Give them something else, and they will start using that thing to cope with. And it is also underdiagnosed, for example people with ADHD are also not diagnosed with it. Both of these things co exist. And at the same time, it is often misdiagnosed as well.
