I actually live in the far Northern U.S. and own a Neo. Was kind of curious if you noticed any issues with its exposure to the snow? Any caking on the body or build up of water? I’d love to use it this winter but I’m worried about damage. Also the last time I used it in any kind of medium breeze, I lost gps right in the middle of town (open farmland) and it had a fly away which makes me wonder how yours has performed in the storm?

It sounds like you got a defective lens mount. The one I got for my sony E mount clicks right into place and works perfectly. I asked for this lens for Christmas as my $100 max secret santa gift with my in laws family. Ideally I would have liked to get the Meike 85 1.8 auto-focus for $100 more but $100 limit is $100 limit. I have been VERY pleasantly surprised. I tried it out this week and the image results look stunning for the price. It was also way easier to focus than I originally thought it would be. My camera body (A6300) still assists in highlighting/outlining what's in focus, so not particularly difficult to focus at all. I think you're selling this lens far too short. If you're not a professional who wants to spend 5-600 or more on an 85mm prime, then this lens is most definitely worth purchasing. Just my opinion. The bokeh is buttery even on my crop sensor camera I'm getting very smooth and nice blur. There's a reason that reviews on amazon are so high. The only low ones are mainly people who assumed that this was an autofocus lens and to that I would say it's not hard to read an item description when purchasing a product.

As far as I know, for mounting the cage you first have to unsrew the 2 top locks as you did. But after fixing the cage with the bottom screw to the camera, you remount both of the top locks. So the cam is fixed with 3 points. If you put the locks in the plastic you loose a lot of security for your cam. Or am I wrong? At least on videos about the same cage on the Lumix Sii it is always explained this way...

It's in the holy trinity of classic Canon sensors. The 5D I, 5D II and 6D I all have a magic to them that was GONE after the 5D II. I'd give anything to have a modern camera with all the conveniences and autofocus they have using the look of these sensors. Now you have these modern stacked mirrorless sensors that look cartoony, like you're taking a still grab from a video buffer but it's 14 bit so you can shape it and make it look halfway decent. These things were killing it straight out of the camera

The 6D was my first full frame DSLR, and it felt like coming home. A few weeks ago I added a 6D Mk. 2 to my camera bag, and I am delighted that Canon ironed out exactly every shortcoming of the 6D - and nothing more. For those who are not familiar with the 6D, two things you may not know: You can exchange the matte screens on your own, and Canon offers one matte screen which helps at manual focussing. So the EOS 6D is great for adapting all kinds of lenses, from M42 screw mount to Leica R. And the battery grip Daniel is showing in his video has a disadvantage: If you mount the camera to a tripod, the tripod screw at the bottom of the grip isn't stable enough, because the grip basically is an empty plastic box which is prone to flexing. This is no problem when shooting out of your hand, but if you want the camera to be rock solid on a tripod, leave away the grip.

Thank you for your video, Daniel! I use Godox X Pro II N triggers on my Nikon Z9 and Z8 to trigger our AD400Pro's. I cured the banding issue by downloading firmware 1.7 and setting the Z9 to Flash Sync speed of 200. Using the Nikon 200s or 250s settings caused banding. Then, we had misfires. It took two shutter actuations to get the flashes to fire. I changed the Shoot Setting from L-858 to Single User. I thjough I addressed the misfires. Then, I tried only a V1 and the firefires were back, every second shot. Batteries are fully charged on all units. I thought going to the Legacy Hotshoe (ON) might eliminate my misfires. No, it seemed to only adress my WB. I also have not totally ruled out the the Nikon Z9 10-second self-timer may be introducing some of mu challenges. What do I need to do to have my strobes and V1 fire on every shutter release? I never had these issues when I used Profoto gear in the past. I sold our three B1's and A1 to switch to Godox. Have I made a huge mistake? Thank you. John

Here are your choices from ATG's on ATG/Jinbei/Canon/Orlit/Rollei/Westcott/Yongnuo vs ATG/Godox/Bolt/Flashpoint/CheetahLight/Molight 1. If you want light for multi camera body brands with power up to 2,000ws. Then go with ATG/Jinbei... 2. If you need ATG's TCM with affordable flashes & monolights. Then got with ATG/Godox... ATG has put many flash/monolight companies in checked. Either direction, you DO NOT have to buy ATG/Profoto or ATG/Paul C Buff. Based from above, your ATG/Jinbei/Canon 600EX-RT, 600EX II-RT, EL-1, Orlit/Rollei/Westcott/Yongnuo 600EX-RT II are fully compatible with Canon Only the ATG/Jinbei.. (if you have only 1 speedlight or 1 transmitter), you can change camera body brand & still be able to use same flash/transmitter, big winner

FWIW, I have a couple of vintage-style manual focus lenses that came without hoods. Online (Chinese Express site) I picked up a screw-in lens hood that also had a lens hood cover. If you're concerned about vignetting, as I was, I know I don't get any using a step-up ring. One lens hood and a couple (or even a whole various pack) of step-up/down rings are dirt cheap and I appreciate just needing them and one hood/filter set if I go out with them... a dirt cheap solution too. I appreciate I may have missed your point that you feel it should come with a hood anyway. Cataloguing I wish I could say something useful. I also dislike the extra step of setting up a separate catalogue in my viewing suite but I got the lenses very cheap, so I accept the trade-off......

Great Video. I love my Canon 6D. It's small, compact and has a 'tolerable' shutter sound, especially if its set to Silent Mode. Shutter sound is very important to me. It's like driving a car that just had an oil change vs driving a car that really needs an oil change ! The color science is what I like most on this camera. Color science is very important in my Real-Estate photography gig, where clients can be very picky about the colors. What I don't like about the Canon 6D(There is really not that much to not like) is the finicky playback. Unlike all, or most of Canon cameras at least DSLR's where you hit the playback button and enlarge/decrease the image using the two top buttons on the right, Canon decided to use an enlarge button, in the midle of the camera that is right above the playback button. If you hit the enlarge button it enlarges the image 100% which might not be what you want. Then you have to hi the control-dial to decrese the size of the image ? It is so complicated and finicky I cant even explain it. Why did Canon decide to do it that way is a mystery to me, but it probably has to do with saving pennies on each camera. Another thing I don't like about the 6D is the tiny aperture scale inside the view finder. I'm an older guy so my vision is not that good. Sometimes I have to strain just to see the values on the teenie-tiny aperture scale especially in mid-day Sun. My Canon 50D(cropped camera) has a very large aperture scale that I have no problem seeing. It got to the point where I had to purchase a magnifierer to put on the view finder. Canon if you want to keep your customers happy and coming back, please leave well enough alone and stop trying to save pennies. In the end it's not worth it.

Seems like focus acquisition was not as good with the lumix. I tend to dismiss the snooty brands but in this case the leica seemed more sticky on focus. One thing that has always bothered me about MFT lenses is the firmware update process. The lenses are interchangeable. Thats is one of the promises of the system. But to update firmware, you have to have a brand-matching camera to pass new firmware to the lens. I have a friend that regularly uses Olympus lenses on his Panasonic cameras, but is annoyed he has to keep sn Olympus body for firmware updates.
