@@MoremItzum it only works with two cars and both have such different tyres it barely worked well with one of them. Then there's the fact that you only have two options, gravel or sandbtraps. It has actually made surfaces with varying grip harder/impossible to do. Its gonna be great for people that have one single 1GRAVEL surface, I am not one of them.

I can only do this so quickly because of practice practice practice. There are many older conversions I should probably revisit and update. Unfortunately I have a bad habit of doing water I feel like at the time. 😅

@@bworx I wonder if you could reverse engineer it from the demo cars. I'm not much help with cars unfortunately, my first attempt must have been a decade ago and I gave up when I jumped in game but couldn't see through the windshield because I had no idea what transparency was. Good times.

@@GabenHood I am releasing a video today with a test car, I looked at the github info from Ilja and a demo car and applied it to the offroad tyres I use on offroad mods. Just need to see what the public thinks about it. It definitely is like you're on gravel but it feels like the car is being held back. Ran out of time but will keep working on it.

If you overwrite it, try a fresh install.

@@GabenHood I mean, I feel you, since I also do a tiny bit of modding myself also; but at the end of the day you (should be) doing what you're doing for the fun of it - once you lose that it becomes a chore and nobody wants their hobby to become one. Do what you like, sometimes the feeling of completion is the reward and what others think is just the cherry on top

@@gheolei I most definitely usually do my own thing, to my detriment at times. This request is not the norm, but figured I would give it a go as the requestee was a bit of a legend.

Considering that we are making mods for a 10 year old software, the attention is pretty big. When I started in 2018, the modding community was nowhere near huge. btw, great work, it will be a pleasure for me to enjoy assetto as the new rally simulator. 😊

As Braketto said, that's what's there IRL. I will try to do better for road surface but not having a wheel makes it hard to test.

@@thombos9 As for SurfaceFX, if they feel the same maybe you have not got the beta lights patch? Cars also need their GravelFX tyres for the SurfacesFX version not to feel slippery.

Please try to translate to English next time. Yes, the hum as you call it can be changed in surfaces .ini but I don't have a wheel right now to test with. If you find a setting that feels nice, please share it.

@@GabenHood I don't think I explained it well, what I would like to edit is for more smoke to come out of the gravel like on the map of Greece or something similar, I don't know if there is any file where I can make this happen or more smoke come out

Dirt 2 or Dirt Rally 2.0? If the former probably best to ask RMiWood, if the latter not likely, the closest I have come is Argentina mesh with no textures. See Escape From Carkov for the lolz

Assetto was never designed for point to point AI racing, maybe it can be fixed by adding a pit lane csv prior to the starting line, not sure. Its a rally/hillclimb stage so I never bothered to figure it out.

@@GabenHood Thanks for responding Gabe. I wonder how RMi was able to find success for Dirt2 Utah and Dirt3 Michigan Rally - both P2P's. But I'm sure it's difficult to pull off. Absolutely LOVE Pikes by the way. You've done such a great job there. I can live with solo runs. Thanks again.

I have no idea how servers work in AC mate. Assetto is too easy to cheat plus when every single car has different tyre philosophy there's no point to competitive rally for me. Unless it's a one make rally I guess it could work. No idea how the league guys do it, I assume lots of testing to find cars with similar tyres. Besides, since my seperation I have no wheel anyway so will get creamed online. Knock yourself out though. I can't honestly remember if I added extra spawns to that 1.5 version, I might have been waiting to finish combining both of the DR stages into one. Now is not really a good time for me to finish that task TBH, another IRL kick in the guts with work handing out a redundency in 8 weeks. I'm sure I'll get around to it one day. Right now it's too many beers and not enough ideas.

@@GabenHood To be honest I have an assetto corsa discord with more than 600 people, and I'm more of the type to drive on the Nurburgring, in the end I got a little bored, and I fell on the Col de Turini track which is clearly amazing! I put four practically similar vehicles missing more than the map with several slots

Inb4 33% of people enjoy it, 33% say its an ice rink and 33% say there's too much grip because they all used different cars... Then 25% will complain about tarmac tyre noise that's baked into a god damn "gravel" car mod. X4fab has asked for a video response to clarify some questions I had. Poor guy is in for a RANT!

@@GabenHood That's something I would get rid of... I would change the friction coefficient and for the tyre sound I would just turn it off 😅. You make great work 👍

@@Patataslow I'm not even sure now where the tyre squeal is coming from. Its either in the cars sound bank or CSP is applying it on the backend. The fact that I cant remove it with the volume app has me thinking its CSP.

Its one of the test cars for new gravel physics and IMO the only one with decent tyres the other two feel like driving on tarmac, they even have the tarmac sounds baked into them so not even turning tyre noise to 0% helps... Seriously if we as a community don't all do something about these inconsistent cars/tyres/bumpstops instead of trying to encrypt and sell everything on onlydrivers I might as well start porting to BeamNG instead.

They seem to have kept it simple. It's just a requirement to use gravel.wav or no .wav (which is somewhat limiting) and either more than .7 dirt factor or dirt factor more than .3 with friction also below .9
