I dislike the squire campaign for mechanical and rules reasons. The squire campaign is fun if you ignore the rules and roll good. I do not think the squire campaign was tested enough. With that said, Black Knight is great and lore in the squire campaign is great. The story telling in the squire campaign is the best story telling we have seen in KDM so far. It is up there with Killennium. I still think Black Knight is a great expansion.

I recommended them for lifestyle gamers as a bulk package last year. I only recommended Heliocentrism this year, as part of the Sun package. For $135 USD you can get, IMHO, a full people of the sun upgrade. The Sun specific armor sets and gear from the 3 white boxes is great. Combine this with the two IR survivors for those same monsters and the full core philo, that is a pretty sweet deal for $135. At MSRP that same package will be (5 white boxes at $30 each = $150) + ($60 USD for Heliocentrism) = $210 USD. That is almost 50% off, the reason it isn't is because Lantern Aya will be new if she comes out this year. That will make her $30 not $15.

I do not think it will be, but I hope it is for everyone who wants it. Even if it is only 10% or something.

I remembered the other day that all the Philosophies come with some miniatures. Regular white boxes right now are ~$30 USD for a mini and a handful of cards, so $45 for a Philosophy, some cards and a miniature doesn't seem too unreasonable of a price increase in KDM's pricing structure.

Thank you @@TheAluminumMan! I didn't know that, I thought it's just a booklet. Still game content wise, it's insane pricing. And if you compare 3 x (booklet+miniature) to eg. Dragon King expansion, it just seems silly on every angle. I haven't played gamblers chest yet though, so maybe I'm underestimating how much they influence the game.

Two of them are core philo's, like dreamism. Dreamism was a pretty big philo when it comes to "what it includes" compared to other philos. They will include more than a typical white box as Aluminum said.

There is usually a link on shop to the backer kit on Black Friday. It is only open for a limited time. Usually a day before and up to a day or two after.

It is hard to speculate what they will have, but I think the things we mentioned are all likely to be there. With I think the Sun Erza and Lucy may not, but I am confident in all the others.

If you have 0 older expansions and no GCE, then you do not need CoD. We mention in the video that we both feel GCE should be the thing to get if you do not own it and are willing to spend that amount of money on anything. CoD updates old expansions to be in line with GCE and current ones. That is all it does.

I would not really mess around with backer kit stuff in your position. HOWEVER, Backer kit is impossible to predict. I have no idea what will be there. I will be live on black firday, ask in the chat on the day of and I will know what is in there. But I am 97% sure I will still say Backer Kit is not the best bet for those in a similar situation to you. My suggestions in the $300 dollar range are for players who do not own anything more than core + gce. Slenderman and DBK would be great bets, they will also likely be 50% off. Frogdog and Black Knight if they are on sale, but if not, no rush to get them right away. Aluminum took the same approach with his $300 suggestions. Players who have core + gce only. Sunstalker is a great one and will be on sale. My $150 suggestions are for those who are very invested and coming to BF looking to improve large collections. Aluminum lists lots of things in his $150 suggestions. Lantern Armor Aya and Willow are great for those in your situation. We do take time to explain our reasoning behind our choices, and I hope the time stamps help.

Yeah, always hard to tell what the stock will look like. Taste has mentioned they have been getting ready and building up stock in other warehouses for black friday. What that means, who knows.

We both agreed that older white boxes might not be as common as previous Black Fridays. This lead to us both assuming it would be mostly newer stuff. So if you have been keeping up with white boxes, then yeah, best to temper expectations. I still think we will see some neat new thing, like 15th anniversary survivors.

If you don't mind, would you say it's worth getting just Dragon King and Sunstalker to unlock PotSun and Stars campaigns? Or do they need more than just themselves to get the most out of the campaigns?

@@Urnimin Both are great expansions. I think if you're okay with the variety of quarry monsters from the Core game, and you more want to experience a different type of campaign they'd be great additions. One of the cool things- if you purchased both you'd be able to slot the Sunstalker into a PotStars campaign, and a Dragon King into a PotSun campaign! Without a node 4, it would give you some more options for weapons and armor.

Intresting question. Node 1s have a lot of value. So gorm , frog dog to go with the croc and white lion would be good vareity. I really like gigalion that's just white box and not as much content but worth picking up on sale.

After that I would suggest research nemesis and which ones swap out good with preferred campaign settings.

My recommendation at this point is going to lean into the Node 2 and Node 3 monsters. For Node 2 you're going to have Screaming Antelope and Smog Singers between Core and GCE, so adding in the Flower Knight or Spidicules would be a good purchase to build out variety. For Node 3 you're only going to have the Phoenix, so I would really recommend picking up Sunstalker or Dragon King so you can swap that piece out. I'm pretty partial to Sunstalker at the moment due to all the People of the Suns oriented content we talked about in the video.

Pretty much what Jay said. I think it is the best version of a JRPG/MMO in table top format. Kingdom Death: Monster is cooperative game for up to 4 players. Play survivors eking out an existence in a nightmare world existing within overwhelming darkness. It is then basically Monster Hunter meets JRPG MMO.

Oh yeah lol. Well the time "card manipulation" had passed, we reached the ticking clock point. Passing turns was no longer viable. It had more wounds left than we had speed in a single round. We needed to start attacking regardless of the trap or we would lose to Ai draws.

This is something we have started to do for white lion, as GCE grants Croc location upon prologue kill. It does not really effect much, as we have no choice but to hunt another White Lion anyway.

@@BraMithra probably just gives you access to slightly better weapons if willing to pay the extra and CEC. I feel that can make first hunt considerably easier but I'm not against that, first hunt is possibly the hardest of them all.

@@SinamonX I meant more so that we just ended up making a full rawhide set right away anyway. We still also ended up making darts instead of the lion weapon. Lion gear is something we may use with Lenore's content on the SIM. Other than that, getting the lion location early didn't even play into our choices. The choices you have after the prologue are so straight forward the more you play this game. Adding in the location from the prologue right away might actually encourage not just making 2 rawhide.

@@BraMithra yep , in this case its the right choce, full rawhide is always better than anything else at the beginning. but... never an organ has ocsted a settlement so much ::D ahahahah btw I look forward to see how surge is used for a "faster" showdown in this setlement, rather than dash that generally makes fights longer. My personal opinion is that it can still be used efficiently and lv2s can still be hunterd unlocking surge and not dash however it really requires a very different metality.
