The KDM team always uses anonymity when interacting with the community. We had spoken about this before filming. We discussed how the development team shared the "Dark Architect" account, thus remaining anonymous. This is why I introduced him as the Sim's lead developer. While at the KDM events, I always respect this and, even when I know their names, I will still use the name they use within the community. All community engagement is handled this way. In this instance, I know Nick was introducing himself to everyone at GenCon without using the moniker. Nick is super fun to speak with. Before filming we discussed the topics to cover and what future content to hint at. I am the one who made the mistake that led to the spoiler that I cut out. Each night after GenCon I always checked to ensure the footage worked. The next day after checking this footage I even mentioned to Nick that it would have been better had I not talked as much. Nick was very kind to everyone at GenCon and his demo table was also super busy. Next year when I return, I now know the best interview to have with Nick is just to let him cook! Nick has immense passion for working on the sim, and I mention that at the end of the video. I knew this from the long conversation we had before the camera even started. I look forward to speaking with Nick again next year!

Awesome interview Bar Mithra! Thank you so much for doing all this and sharing it with us! I purchased the Master's Key when it became available, not really knowing what to expect. Except for the fact that Adam knows how to overwhelm it's backers with content as he has done with the GC and upcoming COD. KDS shapes up to become a fantastic digital tabletop experience and I cannot wait for this years' BF! (Although I don't rule out delays in development of KDS either with the complexity of automating every thing.) Cheers!

Thank you for the excellent interview. I hope the game will include a matchmaking system in the future. In my country, there aren't many people who play this game, so I often end up playing alone. The KDM simulator often feels more like a 'lonely simulator' for me.

I genuinely hope the KD simulator keeps the traction it's gaining. As an owner of the physical stuff, being able to connect to interested players who can't buy into the start or live too far away to reasonable keep a campaign going has been a big blessing.

I've watched lot's of KDM play videos and had become enamored of this game system but the Entry Cost was very prohibited, especially when you add all the new Expansions in, However when I learned about the Sim I bought a Master Key since it was just within my cost level. Would be nice to see some Entry Tutorial Video's on Using/Playing with the Sim. This was a great interesting interview.

I sent this comment in a few months back - after using Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision, I seriously think this sim would be AMAZING in VIRTUAL REALITY. It would be the ultimate board game sim in a much more natural interactive environment. I am sure it is an insane amount of work and may be the vision down the road, but man it would be so awesome to play other KDM sim players via VR when we can't do so in person.

Interesting.

While Adam hasn't confirmed this specifically as a plan, he has stated at least one of the devs working on the sim was a former VR developer and when I asked him to add VR, he seemed to express a positive view on it.

I just bought the Sim key and a good chunk of the content I have played the physical game cause my brother owns it and is a hobbyist but I don't have the physical space to play. Really cool to hear that their aim is a complete video game experience with this

I'm planning to jump in this Black Friday. I've watched loads of content tabletop and sim. My benchmark for automation is what Gloomhaven turned out like in their digital implementation. The game depth is still there, but it just saves on remembering all of the smaller detailed rules, and some of the trickier decisions.

It's great to see the team being passionate about automation. While automation is the first priority, sadly GCE will be delayed to next year which I looked forward the most on KDS. Still looking forward to seeing the simulator become more fun to play

Kds is evolving pretty well, and the automations will be great for solo players. But I really want to know about some pixel arts that appears on updates. Are there a different team developing a videogame?

Yes, it is a different dev team doing that.

I own all the KDM physical stuff (when I say all, I mean the expansions and the main game and GC etc) but I prefer to play on the Sim just because of how much room the physical game takes up, how long it takes to put away, set things up etc. Means I don't get to play with the knowledge cards or the newer monsters, but it'll be awesome if the Sim catches up eventually.

It's a wonderful idea. If only they could get rid of basic function not working correctly in all use cases, the kd SIM would be a great product. For information: camera mad rolling when playing alone and worsen when multiplayer. Items sent to the floor as soon as you pick them and then almost impossible to catch up. Click on items not working when you're near of it. Selecting a card in a stack need to click 50 times to be registered. Fixes those game breaker bugs and then add new features and automation.

If you are able to join the Lantern's Reign discord you can directly engage with the SIM team and report bugs. They work on them in very timely manner (monthly updates) and keep the bug reports open until fixed.

The Sims is still quite unintuitive and cumbersome to use, but I'm very happy to hear they have come around the idea of automating most things. I bought the sim on launch and back then automation seemed to not be planned in this scope. Excited to see how they manage to pull it off. Looking forward to black Friday
@kaladin41224 ай бұрын
I’m wondering, did they mention or did you hear anything about the automations being able to be turned off and on? Because I know some people like the simulator aspect, versus the “gamification” so to speak. Either way, cool to see what is expected to come in the future!

I have done live streams in the SIM. So if you check my live streams you will find a series done inside the sim. I think the SIM will eventually be better than TTS. Currently the automation is still being worked on, but by Black Friday, I would not be surprised if KD:SIM is better.
