Honestly, these little projects are some of my favorites. Functional everyday products. We get to see these used frequently and they add a unique touch to HOME in a subtle way.

I'm surprised you didn't put the mounting tabs to the inside to keep a clean flush trip free mounting solution. I thought about doing this but I cannot bolt anything to my garage floor. so I'm thinking of making a small box around the bottom and filling it with concrete.

Mate i have been hanging to see this well worth the wait! That is sooo bloody good and that rib is wild. When you made the rib did you bead roll a strip then cut the exsess off so it was close to the rib and use the weld to blend tank to rib?? Was hard to see in the vid. Looking forward to the next 1
@envisionmotorwerks9 ай бұрын
Yup that's exactly what I did , I used a 1" bead roller on a 3 inch strip then cut out the bead and welded it in , blending it was the hard part

Did the GMC trucks come with torsion bars suspension in the front. Hydraulic clutch and the X box frame like the Apache 10 🤔

Yup , it's essentially the same truck, only difference was the motor

well done , been through about 10 of the cheapo stools in my little machine shop . The frame bends, the caster wheels start to split over time. One lasted 18 months , that was a record. Always thought about building one that would last longer than i do.

@@envisionmotorwerks I’m kind of in between on this one, I’ve done many carbon upgrades, not sure if I want to do the spoiler, mostly because I’m old and might screw it up. Yours did look good but just knowing the measurements were off would bug the crap out of me. If I do decide what strength of the install tape did you use. Thanks again.

@Edpalomares54 I just used regular 3m tape and it was extremely solid

No the plasma cutter dosent come with it , I have a Everlast 82i it runs about 1200 bucks , but if you don't plan on cutting anything thick you can go with a smaller amp plasma cutter

@@envisionmotorwerks which welders do you use? I only have TIG and sometimes I am thinking about "cheating" and get MIG :)
@envisionmotorwerks Жыл бұрын
I have a miller diversion 165 tig , a old lincoln 355 tig and a old hobart handler 150 , most everything on this truck will be done with the mig , now if it wasn't a ratrod I would probably Tig weld it but for this it's fine and much quicker
@AlessioSangalli Жыл бұрын
@@envisionmotorwerks I see. I repaired my off-road rig's frame (Toyota FJ Cruiser) that I use to overland with the family with TIG because I don't have MIG. I wonder if the higher heat input I gave to the welds made it actually any better than a MIG weld. So far it seems to hold fine :)
