That's an old 1910 song or 19th century older, piano based, made to the guitar. Love u, Steve Howe.

I've been working on trying to play this song for years. It will NEVER sound like Steve, of course, but it's fun trying! Going back and listening to how it's supposed to sound thrills me every time. Beautiful song!!!! Thank you for sharing your talent. ❤

A very good friend of mine learned this song in 1999 and mastered it. He played it completely solo for our high school talent show and brought the house down as a clear winner. 99% of the audience (including me) had never heard the song before. What a guy. What a day.

Ouvindo por diversas vezes, somente agora, pude perceber, que há uma parte ínfima diferente da original. No meu caso, só ouvindo por várias vezes é que se percebe a pequena diferença do original do disco. como eu disse. De qualquer forma, magistral!

I think this song is going to sound really good on a banjo

Notice how this is played quite differently than every single tab you will ever see. He does much more picking than pull-offs and slides where as the tabs all have tons of pull-offs, especially on the ascending arpeggios. Is he doing a composite version for both guitar parts or is everyone really playing this song wrong?

Steve Howe - - a great composer, musician, and because of videos like this one, a great teacher as well. God bless that man, one of the greatest guitarists, beyond words and at so many levels, to ever walk the earth.

Steve's playing is squeaky clean... without the squeaks. 😁 Explanation for those not in the know: 'Squeaky clean' is a term used to describe window glass or tablewear that is so immaculately spotless and grease-free that a moistened finger drawn across it will produce a loud squealing sound. It's entered the vernacular to mean anything flawless - it could be a clutch-free gear-shift when driving, a 3-point basketball shot, a winning backhand return in tennis, or just about anything else you care to mention involving the precise completion of a tricky task. Excellent guitar technique is both squeaky clean AND squeak-free, which is a pleasing irony and also where we came in. Alas, this clumsy Comment is far from squeaky clean...
