@@Haroldsheavyduty I find that the love of assault weapons and our gun culture is literally the opposite of Christ's teachings. I'm a retired USAF MSgt of over 22 years and qualified expert at the range many times. I also enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing and going to fire at the gun club near my home. But if I espouse my love of Christ while wearing an assault weapon T-shirt I would have to ask how does this represent Him? Same as if I told my coworker how much I loved my wife while wearing a "Hot Bikini Babes" T-shirt. Just a thought though and my apologies if I came off like a troll.

I had no idea these things were so profitable until my dad was considering buying one to use as a utility trailer (no intention of renting it out) and he asked my landscaper uncle about them. He told us how his dump trailer has paid for itself about 15 times in 2 years just renting it out part time in a super rural area

I like the idea. But I wonder why someone would hire you to pick up and deliver the rocks. Do the landscape / gravel companies not offer delivery?
@Haroldsheavyduty4 сағат бұрын
They are more focused on large scale deliveries. 15 20 25+ tons. Seems they have left a niche in the market for us. Either that or I'm just better at marketing lol
@pedrogunner97502 күн бұрын
If you’re going to haul material out of a gravel pit/rock quarry where they have a front end loader loading dump trucks…put a CB in your truck! Nothing pisses loader operators off more when they can’t talk to you. There is almost always the cab channel number posted as you enter the pit/wuarry.
@Haroldsheavyduty4 сағат бұрын
That's a good idea but I do see a lot of companies that don't even do this here. I like it though... because normally I get out of my truck to walk up and tell them what I need and it would be nice not to have to do that lol
@pedrogunner97502 күн бұрын
I’ve thought about doing this but have no idea what to charge? I have a 1 ton Cummins pickup that is the grocery getter and picking kids up from school. My wife and I physically built our own house and I have a massive mortgage and sole supplemental income would be great especially since I already have the pickup to do the work.

My boss had a dump trailer and we learned that laying plywood in the bottom really helps for preventing dents. We had to build some walls with 1 man basalt stones and you can imagine how rocks that big could dent a trailer when the excavator drops them in. But the plywood worked to protect it. I think we also put a sheet on either side to protect the walls too
@Haroldsheavyduty4 күн бұрын
That's a good idea! I haven't had any issues with denting so far I think goodness but I like what you said.

What about insurance? Do you have insurance on your trailer? What happens when someone rents it and damages it? (Genuinely curious and want to know, not being a troll)
@Haroldsheavyduty4 күн бұрын
I have insurance on all of my trailers, yes. If somebody rents it and damages it they are liable for the damages. I keep a card on a file and I take a security deposit as well as have them fill out a contract for liability purposes or cases like this.

What gps tracking device or service do you think would be best for protecting a dump trailer or any trailer for that matter. I worry about mine getting stolen all the time.

So, I bought a 16 ft with 3 ft walls a couple of years ago. I love my trailer. I use it so much just for myself around the property. When i go get rock, i always get 5 tons, and that costs me right about 100 bucks. How much do you pay for rock, and how much do you charge per load? When i bought mine, i bought it for my needs first. Then i figured i would try to make some money with it. But i don't trust renting it out to people, and i don't trust leaving it anywhere overnight. I subbed to your channel because i would like to see if i can make some money off my trailer by just delivering or hauling off. Do you have any tips?
@Haroldsheavyduty4 күн бұрын
They are so versatile. Totally depends on the rock around here but anywhere from $55-$100 per ton. I found an aggregate company that I can get road base from for like $10 a ton... wild. In my area there's definitely some money to be made for deliveries and or haul offs. I just went over marketplace ads for rocks in my last video you should check it out.
