Slightly better than the Revelate version. The attachment strap for that bag runs out of adjustment on any tube thinner than a big modern downtube. The Revelate bag certainly wouldn't fit on a seat post and probably not on a skinny steel downtube. The Restrap bag also uses the leftover tail of the strap to compress the bag.

I hate to be that guy, but $75?! 😬

We have aimed this to be competitively priced against similar bags on the market at the moment. It's also worth noting that this bag, along with all of our products - is made by hand using premium materials and covered by a lifetime warranty. We hope that helps explain the price point for you, if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Nice, but i would like bolt on too
@Charlie-sr6dv17 күн бұрын
Good idea but the bag is going to get absolutely fifthy from dirt, mud and water kicked up by the front wheel particularly if you are doing any kind of off-road. The bag material does not look like it can be wiped clean very easily. It would need a more plastic pvc style material for better wipeability. Also, any exposed velcro from the strap is going to have unremovable dirt engrained into it. I wonder if Restrap did any meaningful real world testing of this bag before launch which would have exposed these issues? Good concept perhaps a little more work needs to be done to make it a more practical option.
@Restrapltd17 күн бұрын
The bag has been tested on numerous offroad ultra endurance races: Silk Road Mountain Race, The Land Between, The Alps Divide, Bright Midnight. The front of the bag is made from a wipeable TPU outer coating and can be cleaned easily. A velcro strap ensures this has maximum adjustability for all types of bikes - we haven't found any issues in testing, and it can be easily cleaned. We hope this helps!

Iv'e been waiting for a bag like this for years, great idea ! A bolt on option would be perfect for me, any news on that coming soon ?
@Restrapltd17 күн бұрын
Hi, we don't have plans for a bolt on version - this one is designed to fit the most bikes possible, with a fully adjustable fit. A bolt on version would limit options to only bikes that have mounts underneath the downtube.
@NigelSpragg18 күн бұрын
I have exposed cables that cross below the downtube. I like the bag but assume it wouldn't work on my bike?
@Restrapltd17 күн бұрын
Unfortunately it would pinch them, you'd need full cable outers for it to work with that form of routing.

I used this 14L saddle bag, big handlebar bag, 2x stem bags and small top tube bag along with a third party frame bag on a 1000km trail ride and all performed perfectly even on rough tracks. The Restrap stuff is definitely very well made and well designed. The only damage incurred was user error when I set my front shocks on my MTB too soft and the tyre chopped a hole in the front drybag. I am about to use the same set up on my next long trip unaltered as I cannot think how to improve it. I would definitely recommend the Restrap gear based on my own experience.

Silly question here (never had a hydration vest). Is the bladder easy to clean? As i normally add in sugar and electrolytes to my water.
@RestrapltdАй бұрын
Cleaning out the bladder is quite easy for the most part. Once cleaned out, we'd recommend allowing it to dry and storing in the freezer to prevent buildup of mold and mildew.

"FITS ANY BIKE" on the website sounds a bit.... misleading. Doesn't look like it fits bikes without an upper frame tube.
@Restrapltd2 ай бұрын
It does fit bikes with step through design. Worth noting it wouldn't work so well, as it's designed to have the attachment points lower down. We have seen parents use this to carry kids balance bikes, bromptons and more.

I am reading a lot of review and feedbacks that the bags are not waterproof. How does restrap handle this? Is there a lifetime warranty?

Hello, our Top Tube bags have a YKK Aquaguard zip running along the top. As much as the bag is manufactured with waterproof fabrics, we can't guarantee it to be watertight because of this.

I've seen length and depth dimensions on these packs, but no width dimension. I have a small laptop I'd like to put in this for commuting. I think it will fit vertically, but I'd like to put it in flat if possible. I'm pretty confident it will fit, but I'd sure like to be doubly sure.
@Restrapltd3 ай бұрын
We wouldn't recommend putting a laptop in a cylindrical dry-bag. We've seen it done before with smaller laptops but the pressure of a hard flat square shape in a harness designed for a cylinder will create pressure when tightened and warp the holster.
