This video is so accurate about Tiktok Shop. I have a Christian clothing brand on Tiktok, and my brand along with many other brands are being copied like crazy by manufacturers in China. They're so brazen that they'll even steal the photo mockup that you took of the t-shirt that your friends were modeling. Even when you reach out to them to take down your designs, they just block you and Tiktok does nothing about it. You can't even compete with the prices that they're selling your stolen designs for outrageously low prices. Some of them are selling t-shirts for $2.99 and hoodies for $5.99. This one customer was arguing with me about my price for a hoodie ($45) because she's used to buying from the copycat manufacturers, she's saying I need to sell my hoodies for $5. Also, what makes it easy for these big manufactures to steal your t-shirt design is the fact that they can see how much you've sold right from the tiktok shop product page. They literally can see that it's a hot selling product based on your numbers. And on the flip side, if customer's see that you've only sold one item, they'll just completely ignore the product and it's hard to even gain traction to get more sales because customers buy based on homw many other person bought.

I don’t think TikTok’s that great, specially when it comes to electrical goods they come back 40. They shouldn’t be selling any any type of electrical goods and I think TikTok should be taken off their social media app that the store.

Thanks for sharing! It does seem like the potential for dangerous electronics exists, more likely if the caliber of seller is on par with Wish or TEMU. In the past when we've ordered directly from places like Alibaba or AliExpress, the quality tended to be solid - but the products were usually higher sales volume with good reviews already.

@@brandsandempires i’m just a normal person who lives on my own. I don’t run businesses but I can see what TikTok is doing. If you think about retail shops on High Street we lost so many because of the rent on the High Street was costing so much but since TikTok came along 2022 2023 start having problems and that’s the big problem they were investigated. I remember seeing it in an article in a paper but you know that’s what social media does but still it could ruin people live who used have retail shop on high street

TikTok household cleaning products I know for certain and I’m very positive that they’re cleaning products are very dangerous specially if it was washing powder or detergent because what if they tested them and like these other ones that they sell the non-bio you don’t know how safe they are on anybody

Yikes! With how easy it is to get a safe cleaning product at the corner store why even risk it?

We do live in a weird time, the path forward for so many of these retail shops is migrating from a brick and mortar along the main road to online retail. That transition opens doors and reduces the cost of starting a business - but what happens to all of the jobs and local economies as a result?

What's the best printing technology to print face or picture of persons onto a T-shirt?
@brandsandempires3 ай бұрын
Hey Trappy, DTG does a great job of that - especially on something like a black shirt. Most RIP software for DTG printers can easily fade to garment color with incredible resolution. DTF printers are reliant on adhering to the shirt, so with many tools/RIPs that fade to shirt color, they still rely on larger halftone style dots to roll off transparency, so that the glue can stick to the fibers and release from the transfer sheet. This is also true for White Toner, but with additional challenges during the A+B step. All in all, DTG has multiple categories where it's best in class. The cost/speed/upkeep are simply factors that need to be balanced out in a specific shop. It's been a long 5 years since this video came out, glad to see it's still relevant.

1:54 Say this 10x over. This kills so many people, when the reality is the opposite will happen.
@brandsandempires3 ай бұрын
So true. I can think of several personal friends who were almost paranoid about sharing an idea, then it just never went anywhere. There's a huge difference between this and some of the cautionary tales we see of people giving step by step instructions, behind the scene numbers, and their specific products away as they water down their unique selling proposition. They are encouraging people to copy and build an audience around it - that's dangerous and really only works if your core product has pivoted. Otherwise, if your advice and exact process are good enough, you essentially flood the market with your own replacements!
@DanielBasulto3 ай бұрын
So I have had major success after investing into a commercial DTF printer with a friend. I stayed away from the cheaper smaller units. 10k It paid itself off in 4 months selling Gang Sheets and doing conventions with my wife. That is also with restocking film, ink, software etc. It has not peaked for myself and month over month it's been more and more clients.
@brandsandempires3 ай бұрын
That's great to hear Daniel. It sounds like you bought in with the right tool and it worked out. Now you can skip the first upgrade cycle. As DTF matures you'll hopefully keep up the pattern of growth as more clients consolidate to fewer vendors (like you).
@DanielBasulto3 ай бұрын
@@brandsandempires it's been an amazing run. If I could give any advice to someone looking at purchasing a DTF machine it's to do research on your inks, film, and mix. As for colors, research ICC Profile and dig into it all before you buy. It's one thing to know how it fits into your business but it's another thing to build a business from the ground up. I highly recommend purchasing minimal orders from whoever your competitors will be and check the quality. We did well because the top companies all had low quality or a ton of defects. We knew that locally and online we had an edge no matter where we were selling. The edge of understanding DTF to its core and knowing we could undercut the online top SEO spenders and deliver a much better product. Be smart about it and make sure you put in the research on whatever machine or materials you buy.

Hey DTag, glad to hear from you. You're not alone. When business gets tough, it calls everything into question. Some of the more transactional problems, like charging up front or on delivery, and how to price your products can usually be ballparked by looking around for other people doing something similar. But that opens up a lot of other questions - are you making sales, but just feel like you're undercharging? If so what kind of demand is there for what you're doing right now? As you answer some of these questions, it opens up plenty of follow on discussion. At the end of the day, you want to make a good living doing what you like. Figuring out the road blocks between where you are and where you want to be is a process, but it doesn't take very long at all to get some of the real obstacles out in the open. A good place to plug in would be the discord channel for starters. discord.gg/kUFRazsneU

The best advice for someone starting any business is to keep working on that business instead of shilling yet another pointless "course" that brings no value to anyone when you realize you can't cut it as a business owner.
@brandsandempires3 ай бұрын
Working on, exactly right, people drown working in the business - then they look for a magic pill. Plenty of those for sale. I like how Hormozi frames it, if your course needs a ton of marketing, that could be an indicator that it isn’t a good product.
