Im a car guy and a bit of a tech geek, but i got a Cupra Born last year, snd it eas thr first car the OS overwhelmed me a little. I remember driving it home down the moterway feeling like i was learing a new operating system at 70mph. The next doat i rook it for a drive and parked up in a wuiet spot and spent a hour poking around the system. I was expectign a huge owners manual, like every other car, but no. Its about 8 pages thick. It do disappoint me, ad a geek and a car guy id always read the owners manual back to front, finding out all the quirks and secrets. I did iwn the older ioniq hybrid, a boring car, howver a brilliant and economical car, thst came with almost every bell a german car twice its price would have. It was the first car ive iened thst i actually liked and used its in biult nav. And the screens decoult ghoast sat nav fading in ti the background itx the best use of a "off" nav screen on the market. The newer ioniqs also have this. If you have never owened an ioniq youll not have a clue what im describing, if you have youll know. Its somthing totally not needed, but is just brilliant. It took me about two minths to notice that the screen background was, i thought it was jsut a road 'inderlay' but then i realised its was the road i was on at all times, justs faded into the s reen saver. I dont know why i liked this non festure so much, but i do miss it. Its very clever use of dead space, yet totally unnecessary. I think thats ehy i liked it. Also it had a button inside that would jump the 12v from the 48v battery. Thst did come in usful. And an excellent feature.

Thanks for this. I've been looking for N Line S videos rather than the N (for which there are thousands) and this really helped me out. Would appreciate a bit more on the gadgets like HUD and cameras. Bit disappointed that the Android Auto is wired only. It's what I'm used to but I had hoped things had progressed. 👍👍👍

Didn’t mention about the digital rear view mirror camera which is useful to see out when boot filled to capacity or large people sitting on back seat. Frunk is large enough for 7kw charging cable and 3 pin 2.4kw charging cable and couple of smaller emergency items like e.g. a torch, jump start battery, folding shovel.

what a fool reviewing a car when he doesnt know how to drive with that type gearbox all you have to do is let your foot off the accelerator for a fraction of a second and it changes gear it woud help if this fool learnt about cars before reviewing

Great honest review! I’ve watched quite a number of reviews on the Grandland x as I’m very drawn to it due to the acceleration and mpg combined. I don’t have kids so not bothered about the back seats however this guy looked at things that others have not and instead of just waxing lyrical and pointing out all the nice things, he actually reviewed the infotainment system which was an eye opener and also the boot space which again was disappointing. I REALLY want to like this vehicle as on paper it’s 300hp and 5.9 0-60 along with 50+ real world mpg is a combination I’ve only seen in high end vehicles and the best price being the Rav 4 Phev which is nearly 50k! I’m currently stuck between one of these or a slightly older Lexus NX which doesn’t have the same performance stats or Appleplay however the savings and reliability matched with the quality and 10 year warranty is a real tough decision! If anyone can offer any advice on what it’s like living with a phev and hours to charge it versus the NX and its standard hybrid setup I’d love to hear your thoughts or advice and thank you for the video, NEW SUBSCRIBER here!!!👌

Mazda has never nailed road noise. No matter which model, it’s always a noisy brand. I’m not sure they have developed the internal technologies to suppress road noise.

Good review - just ordered one of the last ones - amazingly comfortable, safe, fast and 60miles real electric only range (better than quoted). You do know the parcel shelf raises automatically with the tailgate?

We just drove 45 miles in our RX450h+ on mixed highway and rural roads and still had 4 miles of EV range left. We basically never use gas in our local driving. We also made a 2,200-mile road trip and averaged 35 mpg(US) on gas. We're very happy with the combination of EV range, luxury and fuel economy. Charge Hold is misleading. One pushes and holds the button until the vehicle switches to Charge mode, whereupon the engine will charge the battery up to 80%. HV mode is the one that maintains the existing charge, although the hybrid system will always use a bit of battery down to about 90%. of full.

Very well said, we came from a Q50 hybrid sedan. We wanted to get more luxury and more reliable than Infiniti. Not everyone is looking for fastest and off road capabilities. If you are there are other choices.

Great review - just for clarity The Door opening is electronic and you push the handle button. The pull is for fail safe operation in the event of power failure.

Was gonna get one. The £180 a year road tax put me off though. My Renault has free road tax
