Are you eating double the calories on eating days? is that the reason for so little weight loss?

I began rowing four months before I turned 70 y/o to change my body! I felt wonderful! I am now turning 76 y/o in two weeks and have been rowing daily and feel better than I ever have and am no longer jiggly and am firmer and am at my goal weight! I will not give up and I am feeling great as I continue on my healthy eating and fitness journey! Btw, I feel better now than in my 40s and 50s!

I haven’t related to videos as much as yours. Even without stepping on the scale, which we sometimes avoid because we KNOW we gained, we don’t want to face it. The ups and downs, I relate to so much. It’s truly a journey and I’ve “restarted” many times. I’m at the point where I thought the other day “when are you going to start living?”. I’m tired of waiting for my health to be where I want it to be, “and the years start coming and they don’t stop coming”. That lit a fire in me to stop waiting. I’ve struggled since I was a teen and I’m in my 30s now. Life is passing me by while I’m not taking care of my temple. Enough is enough! I know you’ve created later videos and I’m catching up, but I’m thankful to see this video and I got a peek into where you are now. Proud of you for not giving up!

I love the cat 🐈. How is it going with the rowing machine? Hopefully, you're still using it. I usually row 5k efforts. But I am trying to switch to 10 x 500m efforts with a 1 minute rest. Sprint intervals are hard, and it's difficult to find the motivation for it.

I am so glad I found your video today. I’ve been trying to do sensitivity eating by myself after doing an at home kit. If it’s not too much trouble could you include what your doctor is called like his credentials so I can look for one in my area? I tried a gastro and he was zero help. I have the opposite bathroom issues so now I’m on a medicine that I don’t want to take and he believes that food sensitivity is fake and that I’m just meant to be constipated for life. He moved away thank goodness but now I’m on medicine idk how to get off of and I’m still in the same boat I’ve been in when I first saw him. Thank you for your videos and posts. I found you from your rowing video. I just got one at Xmas but I’ve only used it a few times.

Girl, I feel ya. I stopped exercises for a few years, and it was my ultimatum, to myself, use the gym or cancel the membership. So I have been back at the gym since March 2024, now May 2024. I love the cycling classes and now doing rowing. The mix of those is good! So far so good and I have biked over 300 miles. Keeping a log has been keeping me motivated. The key is consistency!

Since the algorithm loves to suggest your videos for my rowing - related playlists, I'm leaving a comment for posterity as a former fat person. It's very sad that you made virtually no long term progress for 3 years. I apologize in advance if I come off as rude or too blunt. It's a quirk the culture I was raised in and I'm not a native english speaker. So things may just get lost in translation. To be blunt, I think you lack any kind of consistency and grit. On the other hand I see a lot of useless stuff, like that treadmill you recorded the video on. I think you're more enthralled with the idea of losing weight rather than actually doing it. Hence not keeping to your diet, changing workouts and buying a lot of BS gadgets. I've seen it many times, and I did it myself when I was fat. I think you're trying to outrun your bad diet and habits. And inconsistently too. You have a rowing machine. If you used it daily even for these 20 minutes you would be in a better physical condition after 3 years. It''s really all you need IF you keep to it. But I see you running? Working arms? Pilates balls? Biking? Bodyweight training (at your weight?)? Instead of throwing money and ideas at the problem, choose a routine and stick to it! Drop the novelty workouts and fad diets. Fasting when you have trouble counting calories is just an invitation to overeat. Start counting calories with an app, dont overeat and don't go beyond 300 kcal into deficit. Row for 30+ minutes, at least 4 days a week, no excuses. 10 000 steps a day. Jump on scale every morning. Sleep well. Record your progress. There are only four tools you ACTUALLY need. Shoes for walking, rower for rowing, scales for daily check ins and your smartphone for counting calories. If you feel a sudden urge to buy another pair of shoes, treadmill or any other silly gadget, please venmo me that money instead , it will save you the trouble of getting distracted :) You should be losing around 5-10 pounds a month. I might be wrong, but your weight didn't drop more than 20 pounds between any of your videos. Which is illustrative of lack of consistency. Please keep it simple and consistent. Don't waste your time and health on pretending to lose weight. I wish you best of luck. Hopefully next video you'll finally make some lasting, visible progress! :) Cheers! PS. Running while being so overweight can ruin your knees and hips. I'm sure you don't want that.

I feel like I must be doing it wrong, I don’t get my heart rate up past my zone 1 (about 120-130Bpm) I love it though but yeah I find the exercise bike or incline jogging spikes my heart rate way more :(

I've been feeling quite uncomfortable and tired lately and came across a discounted rowing machine. I'm considering purchasing it, but it's quite large, measuring 244 cm in length. However, if it offers significant benefits compared to other forms of exercise like biking at home, it could be a worthwhile investment despite its size. I do wonder about the potential benefits of rowing: Have you observed enhanced energy and endurance in your everyday life? Specifically, I wonder about things that I struggle with myself as I went from 76 kilos to 93 kilos after an operational hip injury where a doctor hurt me on purpose and I have been bedridden soon two years and need to get a grip on myself and do my best at home to get my heart and VO2 back... if that is what it is called? have you found it easier to perform activities like climbing stairs, walking around town, or biking, which require sustained movement? Maybe even tasks like doing the laundry and stand-up cooking for longer periods when one has been bedridden for a very long time could be easier if rowing truly improves everyday life, beyond just improving rowing performance. What do you think?

I am not trained in any areas of expertise and I only share videos about my journey. So I don't want to offer advice on what you should do. But I personally enjoy rowing as a low impact workout that can be done at various levels of intensity. I hope your journey to recovery is going well, just take things one step at a time and only compare yourself to you and what you could do yesterday!

Don’t worry about what you see as a lack of results in your numbers. Your waist has greatly improved as you stated, but something the scale can’t tell you is how much muscle you’ve grown. So you have to counter the muscle gain vs fat lost. You did great. I more this is two years ago, but that was awesome.

Nothing major. I generally have a 80% good, 20% treat method. Some weeks are closer to 95%/5% and some 60/40 but nothing is ever so bad that I'm off the rails or need to drastically change anything

I’m confused at your meters- if you row at a 3:00/500m pace, which it looks like you’re doing, that’s at least 3k-3500 in 20 minutes. So when your screen shows 20 minutes and your meters are like 1500/1600, that’s like 1/2 of what I would think. How much time are you spending doing drills? It doesn’t seem to add up.
@AriesShrinks
@AriesShrinks 4 ай бұрын
I'm not sure. The workouts I did had a lot of variations in speed. It's might also have to do with it being a magnetic rower? I use a water rower at my gym and see much higher meters there.
