I’m in a similar place right now so you’re not alone, you’re self aware which is a good thing. Speaking for myself too, I think we have to accept there’s no end goal. When you reach your weight loss goals it won’t mean you’re off the hook, It’s for life. We have to find something that’s sustainable for life, so if ADF works for you then stick with it! Everyone has their battles. People are dealing with alcoholism, drug abuse, porn addiction, gambling etc etc. The toughest thing about an eating disorder is everyone can physically see on your frame through being over or under weight, so people are quick to judge. It can suck sometimes but these are the cards that we have been dealt and we have to push through it. It can only get better from here, let’s go! 🙂

Aries, you have nothing to be embarrassed about or ashamed of. Finding the right thing for individual weight loss is difficult. The main thing is not to give up until you find the thing that you can stick with. Pretty much any diet works if we can stick with it long enough and if it is something that we can make into a lifestyle. That saying that says whatever we do to lose weight is what we have to do to maintain the loss is very true. What I wish for you is that Lumen is the thing that you can stick to, and turn into a lifestyle after the weight loss. You can't stop your plan after the weight is lost so the plan has to be something you can always stick with and make small adjustments to as necessary. One hurdle that I can see that may take additional work from you is the tendency to let the scale cause you to give up. Please try to remember that there is no diet that you can do where you won't hit plateaus on the way down. The key is to continue your plan and make any adjustments that may be necessary. If you quit every plan because of a plateau that will cause you not to succeed.

Happy to see you in here again 💖 I am also an all or nothing girl. It's been a major area I'm working on the last 5 or so years (mostly thanks to my hubby). Smaller changes is definitely helpful! I think I told you I do daily windows. My current protocol is two days a week of 20 hours and the rest are like 16-18. Occasionally I have a full down day/day fast but for me that's not the goal. Too many omads make me ravenous so I find I work better throwing a couple in. You'll get there and your activity level will improve. Or journeys aren't longest. 💖💖 Side note, (unsolicited, ignore if it snot helpful to you!) weight fluctuates a lot so if you are going to weigh I would offer some advice. I weight daily but yeah my WEEKLY AVERAGES on a spreadsheet. My trend is steadily going down dispite some days being up like 6 pounds it nuts. The average really help to look over those blips especially if it's just after a day of either consuming more or retaining more water etc. OR say goodbye scale and stop looking at it. There are scales that don't show numbers, like the Shape (I haven't used it because the numbers don't bother me but I've heard great reviews). More unsolicited, if you want a book rec I'd suggest Fast Feast Repeat by Gin Stephens. She doesn't recommend calorie counting either and provides some science to the fasting (which can be daily not just ADF) but in a super easy to digest way. She's a teacher and I think really helpful at encouraging a more positive mindset. Ok that was a novel sorry. Be kind to yourself and give yourself time.

I forgot to mention that there are walk at home videos on KZbin. You walk in place for 15 minutes. That’s another way that you can work towards your weekly goals. Having a friend to check in with has been helpful. No bad talk. We just ask each other how was the week? What went well? What were the challenges. Then we set a goal for the upcoming week based on upcoming events/ schedules.

I feel this video so much! I am now back on my 20/4 intermittent fasting schedule after a week off during my vacation. I feel like my brain works similar to yours (probably from my ADD) but I feel like fasting is so much easier than counting calories. It also helps so much with inflammation for me. Anyway, keep it up and just wanted to let you know that I’m out here feeling your same struggles. You are brave to put it all out there!! 🙌🏼👍❤️

I know exactly where you are coming from. I just turned 69 a few weeks ago and from the time I was in my 30’s I having been loosing and gaining the same 50 lbs. over and over again. I cannot count calories, I cannot get on board with the latest and greatest diets, pills, devices etc. I know I cannot deny myself a cookie because I will then eat half a bag. Because of you and a few other KZbinrs I found ADF. It is the only thing I have found that I can stick with longer than 30 days. I plateaued for about 6 weeks and was just about pulling my hair out. I am so glad I stuck with it though. I did go off it for a week at a time every now and again and it was tough to get back in it to it but I knew it was the only way that I was going take the weight off. Hopefully by the end of the summer I will have lost the last 10 lbs. I envied those that changed the way they ate on feast days and also the different exercise programs they started. I knew that once I lost the weight I would go back to eating the way I did in the beginning. I also knew I would never stick with an exercise program. I knew I had to do this with the way I normally eat or it would just be a waste of time. You will figure out your way of loosing the weight. This is such a personal journey and all we can do is support and encourage each other. We are here for you!

I'm new to your channel so I'm not sure if you've read, "Fast Feast Repeat by Gin Stephens? It's brilliant and explains it all so well. If you have read it, it's worth reading again and again!

Hey girl, I’m so glad you share this video, I’m doing ADF as well, and I got stuck as well, I found it easier in terms of not being so hungry all the time when I do keto, but I know you mentioned you weren’t interested so maybe you can try to keep doing ADF and in you eating windows get some pills that reduce your hunger so you don’t eat as much without counting your calories 😊 but something about getting fit is that it’s never a straight line, the most important factor that I’ve found is never give up, if you are no losing weight no matter what maybe as well could be that your hormones are unbalanced, maybe would be worth to check that. But love your video thank you so much for sharing your journey with us 💕

Hey I want to give you my 2 cents : first of all, throw away your scale! 2. Try to eat meat and veggie only. 3. Don’t eat carbohydrates and sugar. 4. Keep rowing for 30 minutes per day, 7 days a week. Make it as your morning ritual. Go check you weight 6 months later and your will be surprised! Most importantly, please make it hard on yourself: blaming yourself really doesn’t help! Be happy.

Girl you have more excuses than a little bit. ADF was working and you quit. It's litterally the easiest tool to lose weight. Just keep going, and stop quitting on yourself.

It really saddens me to see you in this head space. Weigh loss gimmicks don't work and if they do it's not sustainable. There's no pill or product that can magically help you lose the weight. You must get in tune with your body and listen to it. You're over thinking this . . . it's time to forget about everything you've ever learned about weight loss and focus on what works for you. As far as physical activity simply start by walking. You'd be amazed at how much weight your can lose just by walking. Your heart and body will thank you just for the movement. High intensity exercise isn't for everyone, especially if you're just starting out. It will only discourage and make you want to quit everything. Walking is natural and everyone can do it. Start with a mile or two and gradually work your way up to 3-5 a day. If you live near a school, utilize their outdoor track that way you can see your progress over time by the number of laps you complete. Once you feel up to it you can increase the intensity by adding hand and ankle weights and even a weighted vest. As far as your eating. Just eat clean 90% of the time and consume lots of fruits and veggies. Potatoes are your friend, just not slathered in empty calories or deep fried, but a medium sized baked potato with a little butter, salt, pepper, garlic, and chives is delicious and nutritious. It's the junky processed foods loaded with fillers and sugar that are keeping us over weight. And don't forget about the protein and healthy fats. Our bodies need protein to build strong muscles, which burn the fat. Our bodies are constantly fighting us to reach homeostasis, but we are constantly feeding it the wrong things forcing it to store it as fat because 1) it doesn't know how to process it; or 2) it can't keep up with the large quantities we consume. When all is lost, go back to the basics and start simple. Girl, you've got this!!!

Start small. And try to make the small things a habit. Take a 5 minute walk. I don’t count calories either and I never will. It’s not sustainable for me. I focus on having a balanced plate. Half of the plate is non starchy veggies, a quarter is lean protein and a quarter starch/grains. You can set a small goal of having a balanced plate 2-3 times a week at lunch. Then treat yourself to a non food reward when you achieve your goals. Paint your nails, take a bath, get some cute stationery, buy yourself flowers.
