Another method You can use the actual distance =map distance ×map scale Remeber that when you calculate a distance using topographical we use 0,5

So i changed the 20m and used 30m just to get it right and my final answer was 16.666667, Am i supposed to round that off or just write 16 times?

Hi there thank you 🙏🏾 . True bearing is direction in degrees and can be asked from any feature on the map🙂

@EverythingGeography7 oh alright. So then about Magnetic declination let's say you calculated magnetic declination on a specific question.When asked to calculate Magnetic bearing, will you use the magnetic declination of the map or the one you just calculated?

@MichellePaulineBetha normally the questions used to be concurrent where you have to find the bearing then calculate magnetic declination then magnetic bearing. But examiners have been smart. So, you need to follow what the question is asking. If you’re asked to find magnetic bearing with no year indicated that means you will use the mean magnetic declination of the map to find you magnetic bearing and if asked to calculate the magnetic declination, you will use the one you calculated 🙂
