I usually use a KJV. But I will be using a NASB translation in 2025.

The NASB is my favorite protestant bible. The NASB 1977, to be exact. If I'm studying the deuterocanonical books, I'll read the RSV2CE. Shame you picked the CSB over the NASB. The CSB is too baptist for me.

Just finished my 3rd pass thru the Bible. Completing an Advent study (better than the ‘chocolate each day of Advent’ plan🤣🤣. About to embark on a study plan for the fifth section of Psalms. I’m currently on a Xmas break of a weekly lecture/study of the OT prophets - it’s mesmerizing! For 2025, I intend on doing more contemplation for each day of Bible readings. Whew, so much to study!❤️🙏🏻

Also finding a Bible with commentary or notes, devotions, ect…from someone you enjoy hearing preach, or teach and agree with helps a lot with studying the Bible no matter the translation it is. Or just a regular Bible with a good commentary. It never gets boring.

I love the Bible I have them in about every translation, just a couple I don’t have because I don’t find them interesting or annoying with the words they use. I will never get the massage, the passion, or the mirror translations I really don’t find those Biblical at all. I did get a chronological NLT study Bible I want to start and finish in 2025. But there is a translation out there for everyone and it makes the Bible so versatile, fun to read, and understand.

I hail from southern Mississippi, so naturally I was heavily inundated with KJV Only-ism for all of my God allotted life. However, after recently being delivered from over a decade of severe backsliding (all glory to our Rock!! ♡), I reembarked on a new Bible journey. I wanted to actually be edified from The Word, not to just merely recite Proverbs verses ad nauseam as I did in VBS (Ramblin’ Road Trip kid here xD). So I dove into my moms’ old Amplified Bible, & In doing so, I can say unequivocally that this translation has immensely changed my relationship with God. Before I was born again, I didn’t even remotely perceive or comprehend much of anything in The Word. But this… it just clicks with my brain so seamlessly, and the extra translations/exegesis which is implemented around The Scripture is so helpful for me. It’s like a mini Bible lesson to accompany our Beautiful Gods’ Word! I always pray for discernment though, and still refer to other translations to keep my mind healthy. But I always find myself returning to that Amp Bible. I’m just so thankful I was given a 2nd chance by Him to try to comprehend His Word before it was too late. I can’t wait to bow in His Courts, eternally praising Him & The Lamb, who selflessly absorbed the punishment I deserved for my wickedness to allow me to even be in the presence of Him when the time comes. I love you Jesus ~

From several comments you made on why you like different translations, I would like to humble suggest you try the Berean Standard Bible. It's a comfortable read like the CSB, but a bit more word for word like the ESV. It can be found freely online so you can compare it

Thank you! Just from a quick read through of some of my favorite chapters, it really does sound like the CSB. Even moreso, to me, like the NIV!! I really couldn't tell a difference between the two when reading each separately, only side by side. How fun, thank you for showing it to me.

I love all of them, lol. I did kinda settle on the Niv. If I study, I do the kjv because there are 100s of years of resources. I always find myself using the kjv, which is my standard comparison to what every other bible says. I'm used to its language. The drawback to kjv is that you have to know your words and its language very well to get anything out of it. Which turns a lot of people off. I get it. For reading, I like Niv.The Nlt is very easy to read and simple. I do like Csb. It's good as well. Nasb is good since recent l alexandria scrolls. Esv ain't too bad most of my esv consumption comes from esv study bible just because it has so much resource material in the back thats very nice. I also understand the appeal of the amp and I like it also. My only complaint on it. It overuses the same terminology way too much. Sometimes the same [definition so to speak] well be the same one used like 3 to 4 times even on the same page. I tell ya what a good kjv I found was a kjv that shows the sword on the front cover its actually a its called kjver study bible. Its pretty interesting it even has all of Gods words He spoke in the OT in Red! Which is very interesting and nice. Also has alot of underlining in it similar to the AMP. I got a leatherbound one for about 60 something on amazon. It has some cool stuff in the back as well. God bless dear keep up that reading heh!

I have never even heard of the NET, RSV, NRSV or CEB translations.
@ariana-rose-bibletime6 күн бұрын
I'd only heard of the RSV because I studied the history of English translation bibles! And then the CEB was something I looked at while choosing a bible for my children. The CEB is so different than all the other bibles. And it's not always easier to understand. Like, they keep the word kikkars for weight of gold but the NLT doesn't, it uses pounds or tons! But, one of my favorite things the CEB does, which might sound so silly, is use son and grandson when introducing new kings and people in the Old Testament history books. I used to write that kind of note in the margin of my ESV to keep track. However, it doesn't list each new person in a new paragraph like the NIV and CSB do!
@KarahBella5 күн бұрын
@ Interesting. They sound like some lesser known translations then.

I love the CSB & TPT. My church uses a lot of NASB & ESV. But we have rotational speakers but mostly I see NLT, NASB, ESV. I didn’t even know about the CEB! If I got another Bible for 2025 (haven’t chosen yet if I’m going to rebind my Bible or start fresh)….i would probably choose NASB. It really depends on the individual on what they are needing in their current season….if you’re a teacher or note taker and love historical context…I would lean with NASB, ESV
