Another big brain strat is to have all of your navies consist of a single fast ship. Set naval battle timer to the minimum (15 minutes iirc) and fight every defensive naval battle. In the actual battle, just have your single ship stay as far away from the enemy until the timer runs out, and the enemy navy is destroyed.

You can skip transferring troops to Brest and then adding them to other ship. Just combine the ship with troops with other navy, then move only new ships. Old ship will remain in place and army will move with new ships.

Still works in 2024. Need to have unit size on larger than medium though.

Bro, that’s winnable. If it’s an open ground battle, all you have to do is deploy the cannons in a way that the grape shot could be most effective. In addition at long range the cannons will wreck the enemy cavalry. Next the arm citizens that the enemy has will fold like a house of cards when given a straight up cavalry charge. so as long as you flank them, and be careful with your cavalry, you can deal with most of the armed citizenry. (Armed citizens also have very low ammunition) Deploy your pikes near the cannons to provide cover in the event the enemy attempts to make a go for them. Finally deploy your militia adjacent do your cannons so that your cannons can blast the enemy lines with the canister. Cannister also has a longer range then your infantry, so you can cause some significant damage to their forces before they even reach your militia. Remember this is a siege as long as the enemy retreats, they will be dead when you win.

accurate, that cannon alone, if used well to batter them into submission or shot gun a calvary charge then its all over. most of the other side is armed towns people.
