I like how accurate this is: To have constitutional monarchy, anger the nobility and invade westphalia. That's exactly how Napoleon did it, next thing you know restoration monarchy was in place in France.

Except it is not accurate, what Nobility would want an Absolute Monarchy when they are taxed? I mean I get they would want to keep privileges but not lose power. Also Constitutional Monarchy, England, was greatly supported by the nobles who formed it's governments. Republics were a mixed bag but generally were supported by the merchant elite, who would form an Oligarchy.

Tip: Revolutions aren't recommended for mods like MFR and Darthmod as the flags and mechanics aren't meant to handle revolutions from minor factions. So if you are wanting to do a revolution, do it in vanilla to reduce the risk of crashing. Each government has its own perks and class preferences Republic -> focuses on lower classes for benefits Const. Monarchy -> best all-round government for lower/upper classes Abs, Monarchy -> focuses on upper classes for benefits If you're going for rapid expansion go for a republic because public order/unhappiness will be much less than if you were to be a monarchy. If you're planning on getting the best units and want to be more accurate, go with a monarchy to get the royal guard units and horse guard units (like British Coldstream/Horse Guards and French Maison du Roi/Swiss Guards)

Yes, but any troops exclusive to republics (eg conscripts and republican guards) are lost.

I can't get my second rebellion to go to Constitutional Monarchy. It just gives me the Black Flag of the typical revolts and not the original flag, better troops, or a change in government. I'm still a Republic...I guess, since I'm under the black flag, I'm not sure what I am. Can anyone suggest a path to the new government type?

If you use darthmod you will be impressed by the AI. In vanilla they never used square formations, while in darthmod the AI even goes for flanking maneuvers with cavalry. In the campaign map vanilla will always avoid taking your city capital and relies on pesky raids on settlements, in darthmod they gather up and siege your city. Vanilla just feels rushed, unpolished. props for darth for making such a great mod
