Do you communicate the strategy to your employees?
@Check_0016 сағат бұрын
Yeah nah, small talk is useless in personal communication. It's a tool in the first place. A tool that lets you kill some time in between the boring routine if you don't know what it is really for. It's a person-less way of interacting with people through a kind of script. It could even be considered a toy that is funny to play with but it doesn't bring more real people into your life. Small talk is mostly used in a corporate environment as a mean to get along with people well and give a good impression about yourself, no more. But gotta admit, your colleagues will be crazy about you. There is no life and longevity to small talk that would make it fun or practical to use to make the bonds you would really like to save and support.

So many people have strategies for this life but few have strategies for the afterlife. What does lie ahead for us? Is there more after this? Because if there isn't, if this is all there is, that is depressing. Comments?

My main concern is that everybody is debating how to use AI, which is just a tool, right? Instead of, first, having a clear philosophy of what is a human being, which are the values we stand for, and then, how, and if necessary, whether and why we decide the need and utility to use AI. Everybody is accepting the legitimacy of the existence of AI, and the need to use it, which is crazy!. AI is just a tool, and a product sold. Since the French Revolution and UN and on, the human being appeared to be above all. Now, it seems that people don´t matter, it is assumed that it is "secondary", and silently, everybody is scared of missing out a market that they don´t understand, a tool that they don´t understand, and most important, without asking themselves first, we, as human beings, what do we stand for? Is more productivity our reason to be alive and on earth?!

Smalltalk is torture for many of us - it has no purpose ( at least not the words per se) no goal. And it’s a waste of time and social batteries

This seems like great general advice, AND sometimes, it's okay to show emotions at work. Sometimes, you can control your anger AND let it help motivate your team toward a goal. As a male in Western culture, I'm often encouraged to "be myself" or "take control," while my female counterparts are encouraged to follow all the guidelines in this video. While I find this advice worthwhile, I also understand that there's a time and a place for everything.

Yes! I work on similar exercises with my clients. I also encourage them to create a "word cloud" where you brainstorm words that describe your ideal work environment (e.g. collaborative, innovative, fast-paced). Similar to this great advice, I encourage writing down 5 words that describe your core values (e.g. creativity, teamwork, stability) and then think about jobs that align. This is the quick version.

When you define your strategy, you need to identify the gap that you have in or organization to be capable to perform your offer designed by your strategy. The gap requires actions and time to execute them from all areas of the organization. This actions must be systemic and aligned with the offer, and you must have indicators to see if the actions are supporting your strategy to be successful so you move to the future with coherence. As you perform you do lessons learned to make adjustments so you can have a successful strategy. Isn't it PDCA?

Thanks! Goals that you can control are much more comfortable and less stressful. Finding a job is a lottery, we shouldn't set winning a lottery as a goal, otherwise we just get crazy. It is more healthy to improve your skills and trying to be good at something, the way you can measure your progress and increment

I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter which social media network you're on, if I don't persoally know you, as in face to face, if you try to connect with me, you get reported as a spammer and blocked. Unsolicited contact is SPAM. Its as easy as that.

If they did publish a salary range in the job ad, then I like to ask them if the full published range is accurate. I often find that employees publish ranges of, say, $100k-190k, but only hire up to $120k; the $190k is a fanciful career top end in the role if someone got every increase and bonus along the way to retirement. Some use some sort of “total compensation” figure that includes imaginary values for things like flexible work (that might not even be available for the position). In the end, I’m trying to see if they started with a lie about salary so I can walk away right there.
