I think it is reasonable to assume that Hanon was not a virtuoso pianist or he would have had a reputation as such. Not being one, how could he claim to teach others to be virtuosos?

Yo man you seem like a great piano player. Have you ever heard the piece Shreveport stomp? There’s two versions of it and I can’t find a single person who has the ability to play the hard version

Amazing video. Using the weight and feeling it in each finger is what will give you the confidence to play musically

What makes this piece difficult is the fact that it's in c major. At this level, reading the music is no longer the problem, but playing it is instead. It's much harder to accidently hit a wrong note with the black keys

I found that the best way to practice this is with non legato arpeggios in every key, making sure every single finger relaxes after every single note and the weight of the hand is even/centered, no tension in the wrist.

Id argue this is overanalysis, alot of these things would be subconcious habits

well, okay, but there are some different angles missing, to see what the thumb are doing, and slowing down would certainly help the beginner to see more of the movement/motions of the fingers and so on, thank you anyway, and btw, maybe the mic should be closer to your mouth, the tune of the piano is too loud compared to your speech

When will people stop calling etude c-major number 1 opus 10 the "Waterfall etude", it's super cringy, Chopin didn't call it that way.
@PIANO_LAB
@PIANO_LAB 13 күн бұрын
Chopin also didn't title Op.10 No.12 the "revolutionary etude" and yet it is universally referred to as such. Just saying. Also... I just referred to it as the "waterfall etude" because I thought that it would help the video do better with a wider audience. 🤔 Which I guess it did!
