Can relate. My boss often refers to me a s"Script Monkey" because I saved his mornings by writing a data replication script eliminating him having to get up EVERY morning to monitor at like 3 AM... (I take the term as one of endearment now, as he was a GOOD boss, though). It's what I specialize in, and this song is just so fun and perfect.

stick with it. at least in the usa all of the skilled software engineers are working from home and making great money, and you'll definitely have the opportunity to work on interesting projects.
