Spock needs officer training. No way he should have let that attack go by.

Great episode! This is my favorite! Love the military strategies employed and the cress game that is played between the captains. However, I have one issue with the writing- why is the weapon used by the enterprise called phasers? They appear to be photon torpedoes! Otherwise, this is a fantastic episode, and well written and acted.

I would like to know what Meyer intended in the cut scene where a child is on the Reliant's transporter pad with the soon to explode Gensis device. I don't think anybody has ever explained that one.

Why did Enterprise only fire twice in the counterattack? Seems like they could’ve fired a few more shots there

I finally noticed that Commadore Decker was partially redeemed, in that had Spock been in full command on the Enterprise, logic would have led him to abandon the Constellation to its fate.

Funny how they're using modern naval tactics (darkened ship, silent running, etc.) in outer space. With the advanced sensors, they still might be applicable?!🤔🤟😉 IIRC, this episode was loosely based on "Run Silent, Run Deep"?

I just said to my wife, that after 50 plus years, I worry that my thoughts are bias? But I watched this clip, trying to be objective. After the tension that the actors exhibit, it is like watching a trailer to a 2024 film coming soon. There is a gut feeling that you just want to know more of what will come. How many 1960's shows can still do that 50 plus years later? Congrats to the entire STAR TREK people for keeping the dream alive. Thank you so very much.

Why couldn't they just hang around in the nebula, hidden, while they repair the main energizer and regain full power and warp speed? AND. Why didn't the Genesis device, which was standing upright in the transporter room, fall over when the Reliant was being attacked and shaken?

Man, this episode is so good. Definitely the best of the original series, and one of the best of all time. It's a damn near perfect Star Trek story.

This (apart from Han shooting Greedo first) was the coolest moment vlby a character in Star Wars, thr way Han just draws his gun and shoots his way onboard. Brilliant.

I know where that Doomsday made a mistake: It tried to eat Constellation not to blow it up before it exploded and disabled it. I guess its sensors did not detect that engine overloading.
