Sanding with oil should be enough, as epoxying the fretboard could cause stability issues, or could crack over time from the natural flexing/breathing of the wood on the fretboard/neck. If you use a heavy mineral spirit or linseed oil, it should be able to keep those shavings in the filled cracks.

Yes you start with 1200 grit wet sand go to 15 and then finally 2000 or 3000 and buff And if this doesn’t work, you spray a little clear lacquer on it, and start the process over wet sanding and buffing

UNchained, my friend. And the circles around the Amplifiers knob are telling you the pitch of the note you are hitting when in tuning mode. So, that says "A#" next to the 6505 amp setting (which is based off the EVH 5150 amp).

No coating, really on a matte finish? Is matte by definition meaning no clear or epoxy finish?
@jimmymeetsworld464
@jimmymeetsworld464 2 ай бұрын
Good question and the answer is yes or no. Unlike glossy finishes, matte coats cannot be polished or waxed. This will change your matte finish by adding gloss and creating irreversible shiny spots. Applying a non-glossy paint guard to help prevent UV damage, staining and etching would work best. If I was to do a matte finish, I would definitely add protection to it. I just don’t think it was done on this particular guitar. 🐀
@bluwng
@bluwng 2 ай бұрын
@ my point is matte finishes do not come with any top coatings including what you define as protection if it it wouldn’t be matte. Standard Operating Process.
