Western propaganda has always demonized and stupefied Russians in the eyes of Americans. In the USSR and Russia, Americans were not demonized, on the contrary, they were considered a worthy rival in all areas of human development. For example, in Soviet times we loved to read a lot and besides Russian classics, we knew from childhood who Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn were. They read the novels of Fenimore Cooper and Jack London, and many, many others. We have made films and theatrical productions based on plays by American and other Western playwrights. None of this was forbidden. In the USSR, all this broadened their horizons, and with the advent of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, young people became massively interested in Western music. We knew a lot more about you than you knew about us. But, as a nation that lost 30 million dead people in World War II, we knew who the American missiles were aimed at, and against whom the NATO bloc was being created. Later, with the advent of video recorders, everyone started binge-watching what you were watching. Well, the era of the Internet has generally erased all boundaries, and people began to communicate directly. It seems to me that modern youth, in general, except for language There is no difference between the barrier that can be easily overcome with the help of an online translator. They listen to the same music and watch the same movies. and they play the same games. Any people can be fooled and misled by propaganda, which is why we distinguish between the policies of governments in different countries and ordinary people, who in fact have nothing to share.

I didn’t had to take multiple loans for studying in the USA. Just start at your local community college first. There is FAFSA so if you don’t have enough money tuition is paid for you by Uncle Sam no loan but a grant.

Sydney is a wonderful pretty lady student . Her experience in Russian life is very pleasant, as folks and government are not against foreigners. Thanks Eddie, Kevin and Sydney for your interesting talks. Happy newyear 2025 for all of you.❤🙏🌷

Friend, as much as we orthodox accept and love you are person, as a man, we look at roman-catholic "church" as wrong teaching, so essentially as heresy. It is what it is. Its not all Christianity.

If a girl you don't know smiles at you it usually means that she is friendly to you for some reason. That smile can be a mask or a genuine interest in you depending on many factors. You are actually dealing with a riddle in such a situation. That's a my personal take on this as a Russian. Other Russians can react differently. We are all different. Sounds banal but it's true

Some Russians compare Russian streets to the streets in Hollywood movies, which is far from reality.
