Shake my head in disbelief. This video should be titled "How to kill yourself by doing really stupid things." This KZbin device is a major shock hazard, and breaks every rule known to electrical codes. There is a reason that AC-DC supplies use transformers. It is called "isolation". There is a good chance that the outer metal case of the shown DC motor is connected to one of the two wires going over to that "plug." And as the power connector is not keyed, there is a 50/50 chance that when you plug it into the AC outlet............ ......... that DC motor case now has 220VAC on the outside. Touch the motor and be touching ground somewhere else with another part of your body, and you could easily die Even if the AC plug is keyed, there is a chance that whoever installed that AC outlet wired it up wrong. It is always tempting to use a simple capacitor and diode/rectifier to make a cheap AC/DC power supply. For a self contained device like that light bulb, it is ok. For powering external DC devices, incredibly dangerous.
