Purchased my 843 when I retired to replace an older Massey tractor I use around the property. With some tinkering, it's my workhorse. I'm currently looking to replace the rubber pads that cover the attachment levers to keep the debris out.

They are beasts! I have compared mine to my much larger industrial tractor and the 843 will out perform it in every aspect..... Except my little 3 point backhoe. Thanks for watching 👍😁

I have a suggestion regarding the accelerator pump cover plate where the diaphragm is. Folks often don't notice it but sometimes they are warped out of true. Both mating surfaces must be true for a guaranteed positive seal. This is something you may choose to examine very closely. Just don't eyeball it quickly, look very closely. On occasion, folks will even find fine cracks that they never noticed. DO NOT forget to examine the base of the carb body too. It doesn't happen very often but they too can be warped out of true. Of course, as you mentioned, the replacement parts coming out of places like China are also seriously problematic due to their poor quality. You're often lucky to get 6 to 12 months out of a lot of the Chinese built crap. As a repair tech myself, believe me when I say I know exactly what you're dealing with and I've experienced your plight too many times to count. With a company I was working for about 10 years ago, all they bought was the Chinese made crap because it was the cheapest they could lay their hands on. They never did get it through their skull that what they were doing was actually costing them money over the long run because of maintenance techs would have to go back and replace the parts again and again. They figured that didn't matter due to the cheap price of the parts but what they forgot the calculate in was the time for the maintenance tech. Ultimately, they were wasting money but they just didn't care. Some folks might say that such was job insurance for me and the other guys but that also wasn't going to be a problem with the never-ending supply of work as it was. The truth is it was often difficult to keep up with everything from one day to the next already! Anyway, here's to hoping you sort out your troubles!

Could a malfunctioning belt tensioner cause the check engine light to go on? I'm having a very similar sounding issue to yours, but it only happens in below freezing temperatures and the check engine light went on!
@FlatThunder
@FlatThunder 19 күн бұрын
I would think it is unlikely, unless the belt is slipping enough to under drive the accessories. In particular the alternator could cause a low charge if it is slipping badly. That would be a much more evident squeal though. I recommend checking the codes and replacing the belt to avoid a potential breakdown. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

@FlatThunder
@FlatThunder 27 күн бұрын
It took me two 12-14 hour days to complete the build. Add in a couple extra hours on top for rubber mulch and anchor installation. Organization is key, lay out all the pieces in order for a more efficient build. I didn't do this until day 2. Thanks for watching 👍😁

If the engine isn't overfull, I am guessing the engine has blowby that is pressurizing the crankcase. Check the oil fill level, check for a plugged crank case breather, check for excessive blow bye, check for a blown head gasket. Thanks for watching! 👍😁

Hi Andy! I'm considering doing this for a similar situation, but to force the furnace the blow warm air from our wood stove. What would happen if you turned the heat on when the furnace fan is turned off via the switch? Should still work, right?
@FlatThunder
@FlatThunder Ай бұрын
You should be able to use the furnace blower to circulate air throughout your house without any issues. Make sure your furnace blower motor is the correct voltage before trying to manually energize it. In a later video I install central AC on this same furnace. I installed a relay to trigger the AC and the blower at the same time via the thermostat. This is the more sophisticated approach. Thanks for watching and stay safe! 👍😁

Do you know which is the correct one for my year? Tnx
@FlatThunder

Thanks, I would think all ignition 'key' switches require multiple wire connections. Maybe the two wire switch is the manual off ignition toggle? This one used 4 wires I believe. Thanks for watching 👍😁

No expert, but first I would check the level and condition of the transmission oil. If it is a shuttle shift I would then inspect the shuttle solenoid valve; make sure it's shifting, damaged internals, plugged with goo and or damaged wires and or faulty limit switches on the directional control. Best of luck, thanks for watching! 👍😁

Dude, dump those leaky, old-style calipers and upgrade to the Wilwoods. Not only is the braking performance significantly better, but they also take about 35 lbs off the car. I have the 6-piston fronts and 4-piston rears on my '81 and '82 CE, they were a great investment. Also, they use the standard vette pads, come with new stainless hoses and hardware.

The upper fender mount/firewall was cracked on my F350. I think it was from the previous owners lifting the cab at that point. I ended up having to cut a whole section out of a donor truck and then rebuild the area. Nice and solid now.
@FlatThunder
@FlatThunder 2 ай бұрын
I never thought of them lifting on these fender brackets and causing firewall damage. I bet it's a good possibility for this replacement cab though I originally thought it was from an accident. It sat inside a garage for over 20 years as a loose donor cab before I bought it. I fixed mine in a 'short' video. It wasn't too difficult, but it slowed me down at the time. Thanks for watching! Probably one of the best Wheel Horse videos I have come across! Having WH tractors since 1984 they aren’t too complicated until you get to the 520H wiring. Restored a 520H earlier this year and wiring was mostly intact. Sold to new owner who was going to use it for Shows. Last week bought a ‘96 520H and the wiring harness is there but safety switches have been bypassed and additional wires added with some just twisted together. Owner could not get it running so bought it for $150 with 60” deck. Have color coded wiring diagram but could quite figure how to get to relays without pulling engine. Your video was a tremendous help. Great job with taking the time to explain everything in detail. Kudos to you! Thanks….😊
