Drains are so annoying and little money. Do yourself a favor and quote high for drain lines unless nothing to do. You could miss $1000 dollar easier call not in an attic or a new system sale. They call me I say could be $250 (adjust for your market) if normal or $500 (double) for your kind of situation. That company passed that call to you for $200, which is a grocery bill and gas fill up :( Thats a $500 drain clear if I do it in my area

This customer might benefit in having a housekeeper...that return grill hasn't been touched in a few years. It needs cleaned as well as a new filter.
@Garth20112 күн бұрын
Many folks should be told "Buy a case of filters" that way they have them to replace the dirty filters without having to remember the size and go get them. I'd have to agree that there are more HVAC con artists than not in the field. Best way to avoid them is to stick with the same HVAC tech and forget about shopping around for deals. I have found that the big advertisers are the worst of all because they are spending tons on the ads and guess who has to pay for those? Also, its best to have your HVAC in shape BEFORE the season and confirm caps, contactors, motors and so forth are within range and replace them before you have to rely on them 100%.

Why a cap on the drainline if it's after the pee trap?
@WWHVAC2 күн бұрын
Negative flow air handler blower pulling air through the coil. I prefer a cap instead long riser like they originally had.
@josiahpierson36362 күн бұрын
That's your vent after your trap Walt, just sayin... trap should be full of water already. But then again if that vent ties into the sewer you get the poo smell if it aint capped. Good stuff bud

Solar panels are only good for lights and small appliances - anything with low current draw. They can’t handle 220v with high current for more than a few minutes, right? Edit: The current they can handle is calculated by the amount of battery packs installed, and that can lead up too many many thousands of dollars invested just in batteries.

@@WWHVAC I’ve never owned or worked with solar panels but I do know they store the energy to batteries. Due to that I suspect the typical home AC would drain the batteries in less than a few mins. And if your home is total electric, forget about it. But I could be wrong.
@realSamAndrew2 күн бұрын
@@10speed4not could be, you are wrong. It depends on the number of panels you have, which is calculated based on your usage. If done right, it will run your entire house. Most systems do NOT have battery storage, but if they did, there is enough for one full day so it can run at night with no solar power. Without a battery, you are connected to the grid and you send power back to the grid when you are overproducing. You only get billed for the extra power that the panels can't make. Some people have a credit for the month.
@10speed42 күн бұрын
@@realSamAndrew I’m sorry but I gotta call BS to that. Question: you know for a fact solar panels can run a house with 4 people that have two HVACs running, an electric water heater, electric cooking stove, electric cloths dryer, TVs, computers, routers, home battery chargers, microwave oven, lights, swimming pool pumps, and on and on “all running at the same time” with no problems? You’d have to have a farm of panels to make that happen. Also, the collected energy hast to be stored somewhere or you’d lose power at night and on days sometimes weeks of heavy cloud coverage, and weeks/months of heavy snow up north.

Home warranties were invented to help realtors sell houses with mechanical issues. Oh, we're going to throw in a home warranty in case something goes wrong. If you actually look at what a home warranty covers it's basically nothing because of all the fine print that excluded. They would have rebuilt my unit 2X over replacing coils and installing compressors vs installing a new unit. I asked to exit their plan and got money out of them to put towards the installation of a new unit.
