Holy Sh.... the internal type code of that Audi 100/200/5000s is Typ 44. Wonder if the guys at Audi chose group 44 partly because of this ;-)

I've been working on my own 9:28 we're about 12-15 years because I could not find anyone to work on it so I had to do it all myself a videotaped it and it's on KZbin but I would love to come over and fix all of yours

This always gets me about sanctioning bodies. Someone comes up with a great idea, and they might dominate, but then the powers that be do not like it and start messing with the rules. And this is where innovation goes in the toilet. Why not have the bar set high and see who can develop a car that can compete.

I loved the Can-Am series. Mark Donohue was a childhood hero of mine. Great video and I look forward to more. Thank you.

Every time I learn more about Enzo I'm increasingly mystified that anyone who behaved that way could get anyone to stand him for more than 5 minutes.

Another truly interesting fact about Phil Hill was his relaxation hobby, which he took no less seriously than his racing was restoring player pianos.I was lucky enough to interact with hims a number of times at the Monterey Historic Races and he was ALWAYS a true gentleman, even as famous as he was. One time that sticks in my memory today, some thirty plus years later, he was black flagged for what the chief steward considered to be erratic driving through turn 2, when he came into the pit lane at the black flag station, he was initially upset and wanted to know why he had been given the flag, I told him what the steward had said, he broke out laughing and replied, "This car is a real bitch, it wants to go sideways as soon as you touch the gas!" When I passed this on to the steward, I could almost hear their laughter across the track. Phil was just the nicest person you would want to meet, but he did NOT suffer fools gladly!

I just wanna make a comment about the roof rack. I used to do a lot of four wheeling and I always had a roof rack and no matter how I mounted it, by the end of the trail, it would be falling off. Eventually, I welded mounts to drip rails, never had a problem with it after that.

I always laugh at these videos, if anyone would take the time to do some research on the 928 here in the US and the championships they won..for example there was a cross country race that competed with the cannonball run called the US Express, of course the Newbies never heard of it, but will post crap on all the other stupid media places...Steve Clausman who owned an auto part business won the the US Express in a 928 in 1981 and I knew him a good guy, but more important he was a music promoter also He found a band before they were anybody called Tesla, they were City Kidd before Tesla came into being and I do know Jeff Keith, they stayed in contact even up the the end of Steves death, Steve made the 928 reliable and a trophy winner...but lets not mix facts with an old mad magazine guy, while the rest of us car guys back then were enjoying our Ferraris, Lamborghini, Porsche, Corvettes in the 1970s and 1980s and still...while this guy was a Mad Magazine nerd...no offence i liked Mad Magazine but he was never a car guy then

Being a 928 owner since 2008, I am baffled as to why you would do this to a poor old 928. If you thought a road-going 928 was a money pit, then an offroad 928 is a blackhole for money. And frankly, it seems unlikely your '79 car even has a Limited Slip Diff, which makes it very dodgy offroad, anyway! And let's be clear here: Friends don't let friends buy a 928. Bankruptcy and divorce usually follow. :P

Thanks for the good content. Safari 928 is cool, haven't seen anyone build this before. Porsche built 924 and 911 rally versions in the 70s/80s. Own 924 S for street/race and CJ7 Renegade for offroad. Proper mud flaps and large old Scholl Bosch/Piaa lights in the front I think would have lifted the rally appearance.
