A great deep dive on this lemons car, always some good low buck innovations. I'm no algorithm expert but you may want to come up with another punny alternative in case the algorithm hammers you for the particular syntax used in the title here.

The sound of a vvti 1j is both my favourite engine note, and my dream to swap into my car once shipping prices rationalise BTW, aisin ar5 from the pontiac solstice is a drop in replacement for the w58 on jz engines, might be easier to find cheap in the US and they are much newer, less abused transmissions than the typical w58 Also, you should absolutely weld the jackstands to the roof of the car

That would be the best way and we looked into that. Almost impossible to reach the control arms from above. So on the roof it goes!
@jerryaubert6201 Жыл бұрын
Air movement around the back of the car is non-intuitive. Air going over the roof creates a low pressure (vacuum) area and sucks the air back-to-front. It's the same reason that fresh air for airlines goes back to front. Its the same reason when you put a can of gas in your station wagon and left the rear window open to move the air front-to-back that the air went oppo on you and filled the interior with back-to-front air and gas fumes. It's the same reason that bicycle speed records have a dome of plexi in front of the rider. The air goes around the dome that punches a hole in the air that the cyclist doesn't deal with and sucks air from behind to fill the vacuum.

Im Smiling my Ass off here on a Sunny Sunday morning at the absolute silliness of your Shovel Nose Corona, I played with these 30 years ago with 4AGE's and they are a surprisingly well balanced car (Mine being more Dirt oriented) but still a hilarious body to make go fast as a common Granny car here in Aus, I remember seeing this car a while ago on KZbin and grinning like a loon so it was awesome to get a walkthrough this time around. For anyone who wants to know, it's about 360-400hp at the crank in that spec. W58's are a great transmission but only rated to around 350hp. They door exhaust needs to be more isolated from the electrics, it'll cause long term damage to the wiring insulation and intermittent faults.
@marcuscoquer59582 жыл бұрын
Doesn't the wing also push back? With the leverage that will still be lifting the front. Maybe try creating some downforce at the front, seeing as the radiator isn't there anymore, with less bonnet and some flappage (fla'parrge). Or ground effect/fan car with less boot and more flappage...

1JZ, explanation, supranos logos and t-shirt (face palm) the puns are delightfully horrible. The cheap tricks such as the homefab coilovers mismatch gauges, to real world clever ideas as prepresured coolant system, driver comfort/safety planning I can appreciate all this to the tune of, a paper mache award! The cheaty planning is great. I figured more smokey Eunic style tricks vs a car-toon wing but hey if it might work, its worth persuit! I especially like the idea if using it for braking assist. For the tranny I understand there is some shared family in aisin gearboxes with jeep Ax15 and the turbo version 22r trucks. I wonder how much might be in common after all for the Jz? Further I have heard aisin auto transmissions used in cherokees, are internally same as v6 tacomas. I have a 2wd ax15 as have had 2wd auto cherokees. As tranny doners they do exist and with 4wd application and popularity, aftermarket support is there. Interestingly enough Ax15 has removable bell housing and can be found in some dacotas too (I run mercedes diesels in front of one with help of an adaptor kit) I would ask if it is sacreligious to run an auto setup? Turbo cars benefit from the head start of boost developed by pushing a TC. Especially off the line. Buuut loose power in the form of heat from TC. Always a tradeoff and I suspect you may accept low buck reliability at the cost of some power loss. I wish I had more quantifiable data to share, just sharing musings from the hip that could send you down research rabbit holes. I am trying to figure cheap junkyard solutions for low buck fixes often hidden by stones left unturned. Finally I wish I was still in california so I could see this race venue In person, for now I vicariosly draw of inspiration you provide. Oh yeah... This too, "could be red"
@davidpooler10272 жыл бұрын
Another thought is with a gearbox running hard for 8 or 10 hours in crazy high ambient all day? Makes me wonder if failure may have had roots in oil breakdown? Perhaps an aluminum finned pipe style cooler (large copacity and lof flow resistance) to add oil capacity add cooling. Start by drill and tapping off casing where gear splash sling or churn will circulate it through cooler.
