So, it sounds like you're saying "SMASH" fish. Salmon Mackerel Anchovies Sardines Herring I say this, because wild sardines in the can, for example, are MUCH cheaper and storable than salmon. So I can eat sardines a couple times a week and salmon once a week to get a good food source (meanwhile, I take both cod liver oil and DHA-500, in addition, and get plenty of midday sun when I can.) PS: Of course, here in the US, the Salmon is rarely fresh-I understand it's flash frozen on the boat.

@DianneElizabeth64 I just found out I have MTHFR, and both my iron and ferritin are high. Would MTHFR cause those to be higher?

Yesterday it was Christmas and if I still believed in babbo natale I would ask to be among your students in the university where you teach. I'm Italian, English is my second language, I love epigenetics 🧬, traveling 🧳 and English. Do you think it would be possible? I might put this vacation in my to-do list for the 2025... Daydreaming doesn't cost anything 😊 But if you want a dream to become true you must start dreaming 😊

I can’t believe that such a learned man would say that there’s no difference between plant proteins and animal proteins. There are many amino acids in animal proteins that are not present in vegetable proteins! I thought this was elementary!

Oxalates aren't inherently toxic to humans, in fact the human bodies creates its own OXALATE. Oxalates are salts or esters of oxalic acid, a natural compound found in plants and produced by the human body during metabolism. Internally, oxalates are formed as byproducts when amino acids like glycine and hydroxyproline, as well as vitamin C, are metabolized, primarily in the liver. Similarly, plants produce oxalates as part of their metabolic processes involving compounds like vitamin C and glyoxylate. The body is exposed to oxalates through two main pathways: Dietary Intake: Foods naturally rich in oxalates (e.g., leafy greens, nuts, and many plants). Internal Production: Metabolism of certain compounds, such as amino acids from meat and vitamin C. For instance, meats like red meat, chicken, and turkey contain glycine, which the body metabolizes, contributing to oxalate production. Oxalates are not inherently harmful, as the body naturally produces and processes them. Problems occur when levels become excessive due to overconsumption or reduced ability to excrete them.

Excellent discussion and leaves a lot of questions! I would love to hear more. Although the treatment he’s talking about isn’t available yet and it’s not known when or even if it will be safe. One thing is sure is that each woman will go through menopause. Why do some women go through an easier time with it? Ovaries continue to work post menopausal to a small degree..so what can we do to improve ovarian function that is available. Does BHRT improve ovarian function or does it just aid the body in other ways.. thanks for the discussion!!

The good side of being single and without any family is that at Christmas I will eat what I desire such as sea food well prepared with veggies, eggs in the morning and I will probably go running and do some calisthenics on the road 😊 Last year at Christmas lunch time I was dancing salsa in a park in Barcellona 😂
