That pinion angle was scary. Wee more droop and you will need rebuild that shaft.

From driveshaft CV angles are way too severe… more caster is only going to make that worse. There have been reports of front driveshafts popping due to lifts on the Grenadier as it was never really designed for those sort of lifts as it takes everything way out of specification as you show on your alignment specs. Hoping it works out and you don’t run into long term issues.

How did you center the axles after you lifted the vehicle? Also what about Castor angle on the front end?
@FieldWorxoverlandadventures4 ай бұрын
What did you do about centering front and rear axles after lifting vehicle? Did you put on adjustable track bar or track bar relocation bracket? If those parts are even available? being solid front axle how did you get more caster out of it so it steers properly? looks great👍

does 275 instead of 265 really make a difference in person look? trying to understand if the look trade off against worse performance, gas mileage and handling due to being heavier and higher really makes sense.

Not worth it. It's 0.3 inch wider that's it
@VT17Fan3 ай бұрын
@@t-money10 It's 0.4 inches wider and 0.55 inches larger in diameter so it will fill out a little more of the wheel well. All this is subjective though. What is "worth" it to one person may not be to another.

Nice and informative video. But its quite funny you emphasize that all the parts are made in US, when you drive a Japanese truck for the US markets. I am in Europe and I drive a Hummer H1 and a Silverado Dmax, I don’t care where parts are made as long as they are good! Earlier when I used to ride Harley and Buell, even the OEM Harley parts where stamped with made in Taiwan😂 Now I am looking for coilovers from a Tundra so I can custom make them work on my 1995 H1, thats why I ended up in your video

The stock steering stabilizer is super stiff for off road. The Fox after market adjustable helps with return to center greatly. Totally doing this lift next year and putting on BFG 285/75r17 KO3s.
@BryanPike6 ай бұрын
Dude, stock caster is online 2° standard and max at 2° 36. I suppose that lift might chew into that measurement on the stock links , but 30mm should not be beyond that spec. Level lifts on Grenadiers rule!

Spending over 7K to remove perfectly equiptment on a ride that can hit 100K blows my mind. Weckless spending that must be paid for, unless you have several million in the bank this is an example while everyone is pretty much broke.

Its called upgrading and I have no idea how you don't understand why enthusiast do this. Example: If the turbo on your car works, why replace it with a bigger? More power obviously. On this vehicle, he upgraded the suspension a bit and put bigger tires. Now its more off-road capable than before. These are really simple concepts.

Spare doesnt fit or is too heavy?
@floofy1174 ай бұрын
A 35 inch spare blocks the smaller rear door from opening. You will need a bracket that moves the spare a few inches to the right in order for the smaller rear door to still open when mounting any spare that's bigger than a 33inch

Nice. First “Americanized” one I’ve seen. Lol. Did you add a disconnectable sway bar? It needs more flex from the vids I’ve seen.so that tire carrier moves the 35 over? I assume it doesn’t let the driver side rear door open on standard carrier? Think a 37 would fit on that new carrier?

How is the gearing with the larger tires? That is a big enough size change to typically necessitate a regear.
@steverpmoffroadgarage85848 ай бұрын
I probably won’t be able to chime in on it because I dont have the seat time in the truck to judge if a regear is needed. But based off the moderate incremental tire diameter increase along with the modern turbocharged powertrain with a 8 speed. Regear isn’t needed in my opinion, if it was on 37’s I would highly recommend
