What horrible, ignorant parents will too much time on their hands

MOM: No, you cannot play that Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii U, or Nintendo Switch because we already have a perfectly fine NES at home. Use that. KID: What about a Sega Genesis? Can I play that? MOM: No! And, before you get any bright ideas, you also can't play that Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Sony PlayStation, PS2, PS 3, PS 4, PSP, Vita, XBOX, XBOX 360, XBOX ONE, Sega Game Gear, Virtual Boy, TurboGrafx, CD-i, Neo Geo, 3DO... because we're not having more than one console in this house. Is that understood? KID: Yes, mom. Kid grows up to the Angry Video Game Nerd.

I know this is a hard pill to swallow, but the parents who ridicule video games and their kids for playing them, raised kids like you today who ridicule kids for enjoying games like Fortnite. That's their Super Mario World. Let people enjoy things rather than wondering why parents back then had an issue, while simultaneously gatekeeping what games children can find to be fun.

It’s frustrating hearing these parents not understanding why their kids want a Super Nintendo. Then again, I can’t imagine buying an Xbox Series console when the games look practically the same as the ones on my Xbox One. Has console technology stagnated or am I the out of touch old person now?

Japan be like SMH! Sounds like a bunch of terrible parents that would rather institutionalized their children instead of being in their lives. I don’t know maybe you sit down and play a game with your child instead of trying to blame them for your shortcomings as a parent.

Watching movies all days. Therapists: that's ok Listening to music all days. Therapists: that's fine, its just music Playing video games. Therapists: on, no, we're gonna do something. I don't know what a video game is, but im sure its bad. Our kids should behave themselves like normal kids: smoking weeds and drinking alcohol on the streets

I mean, I understand the mother though. There is no way she can judge SNES games but she is certainly aware of all the shady advertising tactics that dupe kids to buying useless crap, it's good to make the kids aware of it regardless of it being good or bad.

It was because of Nintendo’s locking down of 3rd party developers, sega had to develop superior hardware to compete and then nintendo did to hit back. If nintendo had allowed 3rd party games to be released on other platforms in the wake of the 1983 video game crash the games coming out for the nes would have just kept getting bigger and better chips and they never would have made new hardware.
