What a beautiful, solid car. Great to see a lad who has a mindset to repair and not replace. We need more like you mate, good luck with the project, Subbed 👍

Fantastic job. Well done. What an amazing car to look at. Same designer as the e type. Shame they were so poorly built. You have great skills.

12:21 I think racing green is the best colour those cars came in personally but horses for courses . I paid £600 for a V12 5.3 lately it only had rust on one wing but I replaced that for twenty pounds so mint now same colour luckily. Smashing cars though 14:10 pretty disastrous so far 😂😂 £420 and wants a new showroom one 😂. Only joking

Lovely car i bought a similar one but in British racing green it's better condition cosmetically with only rust on one wing. The rest is clean. It's a v 12 5.3 though. I paid six hundred pounds last year. I also have an E type convertible which is in really good condition i only paid a thousand pounds last year in preloved local to me

I had a brand new red 3.6 Jaguar XJS manual as a company car back in 1987-89. It cost about 28K GBP. I left the company about 15 months later and it was offered to me for 15K and I declined. Beautiful smooth drive though. Had a wonderful time with it.

Remember with Jaguars, for all the rust you see, there's about five or six times the rust that you don't.

My Dad used to say, "There are good Jaguars, and there are cheap Jaguars, but there are no good, cheap, Jaguars." With BMWs it's more like, "There are cheap BMWs, and there are expensive BMWs, but there are no good BMWs."

Well done you’re doing a brilliant job there!! You remind me of myself at your age, you’re a rare breed these days. For not much over a grand you’ll have a fantastic daily rolling resto there! Nothing drives quite like a jag, they are such nice places to be in! 3.6 is a great engine and very reliable if cared for.

Hi mate I have the same lift if it’s made by CJ autos 3 adjustable widths I’ve had an x3 on it Triumph stag Lexus The lock pin should mechanically stop the lift going anywhere as it’s not hydraulic Still I always put couple wheels and stands place around you can never be too safe

Great videos. Very can-do attitude which fills me with encouragement and something is really needed with older cars, where previous repairs and servicing or lack of it, frequently lead to rounded nuts, rusted parts, which all take many hours to remove clean and paint, yet alone repair /replace. Presenter’s experience really shines through but I get the impression this is full time and not a hobby like for many of us. With this experience I soon expect him to be working on much more valuable cars than this jaguar XJS to make a living. Shame though it is, these projects are labours of love and I speak from experience. Like a ripple in a pond, start to. Fix 1 problem on an old car only to find another 3. Would be good to understand how long some of his work is taking.😊

Typical to find rust like this in cars but you did a good job of it. Also what do you think of the car lift so far? I actually quite like the look of this, seems very portable and has decent height. I cant fit a proper height lift in my garage beause the roof is low like yours so maybe this would work for me too
