When my mate introduced himself to my Pa as a Tongan my Pa told him he doesn't care which island he's from. Whether you're Tongan, Samoan, Fijian or from Kiribati we are all children of the sea.

i live in Austria - far away from Polynesian culture. yet my 4yo daughter absolutely adores this song. we listen to it every evening before going to bed. so i started reading about Polynesian navigation, their rich history and proud culture. i try to explain it to my daughter the best i can; the different languages and the meanings behind the song. i look up to your beautiful history & culture and tbh. this song brings me to tears.

Kaleve was a traditional drink originated from Kiribati and since Kiribati have long history with Tuvaluans and many mixing around them before europeans came and Tokelau people are the same people as Tuvaluans before divided into countries but the passing of Kaleve and batere from Kiribati which is fatele to Tuvalu and Tokelau is still not divided
