I am now going to take my b2 exam this year. I really love languages. German as my 5th language, its pretty much easier compare to japanese one. Ilocano(my mother tongue, condisered as dialect in the philippines but it is a language.) Tagalog, english, nihongo, and deutsch. For me, my advantage for german learning is by talking with the local people here in deutschland. First, build your vocabulary. If you dont have anyone to talk to, talk to deepl or google translate and try to write something in german and the translator will do the job for you if its correct one or not. Actually, watching netflix did not help me at all,not until i passed my b1 which you can understand SOME. B1 is just the beginning. This video will help you keep you motivated and we have similar Almost experienced to learn the german. Its just i learned and passed the b1 in less that 5 months. But keep in mind, all I did was learning every single day and talk to people.

Wow very impressive, I recently moved to Switzerland but I had started German lessons back home. I still find it very difficult to speak. I went to Konstzanz one time and I could pick up a few things but here is Switzerland it's sounds like a whole new language to me. Do you have any recommendations for any intensive schools or private tutors. Also let me know if you would like to meet up for coffee sometime. I am trying to make friends 😅. If you are around Zurich area.

Ros, what you have accomplished is fantastic. I have seen just a couple of your videos from your channel but still, I have huge respect and admiration for you. My dream is to be able to communicate and be proficient in 5 languages, so far I speak Spanish which is my native language, and of course, English. I've been learning German since a couple of months ago, and it's been a journey and a challenge, I won't quit as my dream is to be able to do a Master's degree in either Germany, Austria, or Switzerland. Your videos are so motivating. Thank you for taking the time back then to create these. Greetings from Colombia

When i hear non-native speaker speak german, i understand well. When i hear an actual german, it's incomprehensible to me. That's super annoying.

They have a strong accent, they don't speak so clearly :( try to use subtitles when watching videos, if possible, and get used to different accents, like english. When I started learning english I could understand Americans but I was very overwelmed by the english, irish and scottish accent

My mother tongue is English, I have French at a B2 level, and I am studying German. I find French so similar to English. Yes the verbs conjugate differently, and it usually has adjectives after nouns, but the word order and the ‘feel’ of the language is so like English. German is so alien, word order is bizarre, and they often say things so indirectly e.g. Mir geht es nicht gut, or even Ich bekomme schlecht Luft. Then there is the fact that word order depends on the conjunction, is the part after a main clause, or a subordinate clause?

Ciao Rossella. Laura
