Studiavo lingue all' uni e recentemente mi sono appassionata alla cultura teutonica, (in particolare a quella tedesca e austriaca) che per molti aspetti trovo peraltro non troppo dissimile da quella italiana, Trovo molto affascinante gli scrittori austriaci come Kafka, ed è proprio per lui che decisi di imparare il tedesco. Tuttavia mi sono resa conto che, forse, tra la lingua e la cultura c'è un po' di differenza. Non amo il tedesco come lingua, mi piace molto di più l'inglese; e non avendo intenzione di trasferirmi né in Svizzera né in Germania né in Austria credo che dedicherò le mie energie ad una lingua con cui sento di avere un rapporto più amichevole. Ero partita tanto entusiasta... Non so perché ma non ho un gran feeling con il tedesco. Eppure mi sono sforzata molto. Ho comprato corsi, ho guardato video, spettacoli teatrali. Riesco perfino a dire qualche frase, ma è come se avessi un rifiuto. E vabbè pazienza. Ma sono contenta che per te sia stato diverso e xhe tu ce l'abbia fatta. Buona fortuna per tutto! Laura

I start to learn german a few months ago. Your vdo makes me feel motivated. Your voice sounds lovely in speaking the German language. German pronunciation is very difficult for me (I'm ASEAN). I hope when I practice continuously. It will sound naturally like you.

Ros, what you have accomplished is fantastic. I have seen just a couple of your videos from your channel but still, I have huge respect and admiration for you. My dream is to be able to communicate and be proficient in 5 languages, so far I speak Spanish which is my native language, and of course, English. I've been learning German since a couple of months ago, and it's been a journey and a challenge, I won't quit as my dream is to be able to do a Master's degree in either Germany, Austria, or Switzerland. Wow very impressive, I recently moved to Switzerland but I had started German lessons back home. I still find it very difficult to speak. I went to Konstzanz one time and I could pick up a few things but here is Switzerland it's sounds like a whole new language to me. Do you have any recommendations for any intensive schools or private tutors. Also let me know if you would like to meet up for coffee sometime. I am trying to make friends 😅. Migros klubschule has good german classes, but they are little bit expensive.. they even teach swiss german. You get used to the dialect after one year or two! Sure send me a dm on instagram @rossellagrasso3_

Oh, girl, I feel you.. I moved to Germany and was very excited about the language the first 6 month, I did B2 from weak A2 and .. suddenly stopped learning, my body is not accepting German for the last 3 month, but you are right, the content is needed, we have to use and consider the language as a tool and not learning for the sake of itself

Wow, dein Schweizer- Deutsch ist sehr gut . Du machst wirklich sehr wenig Fehler . Ich bewundere so Leute wie dich . Respekt vor deinem Durchhaltevermögen. Vielleicht kannst du das Schwere und Komplizierte im Deutschem bald zu schätzen wissen , denn man kann sich dadurch sehr präzise und differenziert ausdrücken . Ich wünschte , ich könnte andere Sprachen so gut sprechen , wie du deutsch .

I think u can speak very good German, its like Swiss German to me! If u want to speak Swiss German, you dont have actually a hard accent :)

Did you learn High German or Swiss German? Can you get by in Switzerland only with High German? I started to learn German 3 months ago and just recently I found out that there are many distincts dialets, I'm not from Europe didn't even know about it. And now I thinking wheter I'll need to learn any dialect or if just High German is fine.

I learnt German and now I understand most of the people talking in dialect but it takes a lot of time and patience.. I suggest you to learn and speak only high German, than start to understand the dialects by asking questions to the local people you meet just for curiosity and to be able to understand more since they speak only the dialect among them.. But do not mix them, always stick to German

Seems like Hochdeutsch with a bit of "j" im not in German yet just did it for lockdown (some weeks) but seems quite fluent this person. This is an example you dont need a school and years but decide what you want! I recomend Alligatoah if you dont know yet that wonderful artists! Accents gets better youll know xD, the more you speak the more you get and speaks. Ppl think there's no accents but each language has :) Saluti dalla Spagna Ros!

I suggest you to learn vocabulary first related to small talk, then maybe expressing feelings and so on, at the same time revise all tenses especially present, future, past participle.. Then adjectives and pronouns, linking words etc.. Don't stress too much about the cases Genitiv, Dativ, nominativ and Akkusativ. focus on already made expressions and only after that remember what case goes with preposition, like with "mit" you must use dativ.. Leave that at the end it's not so tragic if you make mistakes because you don't know if the article is der die das or if you have to use dativ or Genitiv. To do that it's better if you watch a lot of movies and tv shows with subtitles

When i hear non-native speaker speak german, i understand well. When i hear an actual german, it's incomprehensible to me. That's super annoying.

They have a strong accent, they don't speak so clearly :( try to use subtitles when watching videos, if possible, and get used to different accents, like english. When I started learning english I could understand Americans but I was very overwelmed by the english, irish and scottish accent
