I just came from your 3rd knee dislocation and girl... seeing you running a half is SO INSPIRING!!! I just dislocated my patella for the 2nd time and ive been feeling extremely down and that I cant trust my own body and that I won't be able to do all the things I used to do before. I'm so happy for you!!! I saw your last videos was two years ago. Have you had any knee problems after the last dislocation ?

I literally also dislocated my kneecap on september 11th 2021. After thousands of dislocations I finally had 2 knee surgeries, a tibial tubercle transfer and MPFL reconstruction.

This is my fifth time dislocating my left knee(patella). The first time was during the last semester of 8th grade. It is VERY depressing to not be NORMAL AGAIN. I used to sit on the bleachers by myself while everyone had fun playing… I felt isolated, and basically alone. You don’t really realize how important something is until you lose it… The ORTHOPEDIC recommended SURGERY. I don’t know what I should do… Either get surgery or go into physical therapy, but physical therapy won’t help in the long run from arthritis. Even now when I walk long distances there’s this burn in my knee. What should I do?

I had a serious patella dislocation when I was 15. It dislocated a few times so I had surgery (fulkerson with osteotomy was what the did back then). Recovery wasn't fun, but I never had another dislocation after the procedure. I went on to run marathons and am still doing gymnastics in my 40s (surgery was like 30 years ago!). However, I recently dislocated my left knee for the first time ever. My left knee cap isn't sitting in the groove so I guess is also prone to discoloration, although I had never disclosed my left one before. I am hoping with PT I can avoid surgery on the left.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts so candidly. I am 51 and had my first dislocation when I was in 5th grade. Over the course of my life have suffered 8 dislocations and it never gets easier. The recovery is harder mentally than physically. It throws you back years. My last dislocation was two and a half years ago and am still struggling to recover. Trauma and fear are two Herculean things to get past.

OMG I thought this was just me! I dislocated my right knee for the first time when I was 15 while playing soccer. It went on to disclose several more times and then I had surgery at 16 (fulkerson with osteotomy). Never had another issue with it and I am very active (ran a bunch of marathons in my 20s, still doing gymnastics in my 40s). Anyway, a few weeks ago I disclosed my LEFT kneecap WHILE SITTING AT A TABLE! I had my legs propped up and crossed, and I somehow hyperextended my left left and it caused my kneecap to disclose. It was wild and I was immediately brought back to all the pain and crap I went through as a teenager almost 30 years ago! I am about to start PT for my left leg before resuming serious activities but really hoping to avoid surgery and any more dislocations with my left leg.

Hey girl I hope you’re okay, I wanted to ask you a question I’ve dislocated my knee on the 27th Jan 8 weeks now, I can bend my leg ab 60 degrees but I cannot walk without hand crutches as my balance is off and my legs are weak and wobbly and I can’t fully bend my knee, how did you over come this? Its my first time and I just want to walk 😕
@lilyflorencefitness3 ай бұрын
Make sure you do your physio exercises the best as possible!! But 8 weeks sounds long to be on crutches so maybe go back to hospital? xx

Well done on your run! And thanks for being so prepared...I was volunteering as part of the medical team and the amount of people we get asking us for safety pins (which we can't give out) is unbelievable!!!😅 😅

@@user-nj4si3rn7f Good to hear! and thanks :) If you go to their website you'll probably find all the info you're looking for, but I think it'll be 16th March next year. I was mainly just based around the finish line so I can't really tell you about the whole route, but I would imagine it's mostly flat with a few small inclines (I know that as you approach the finish line by the entrance to Victoria park there was a small hill for example). Hope this helps!

Not sure if you're aware but caffeine actually makes people with CFS feel much worse, so energy drinks/coffee are strongly discouraged 🙈 I drink decaf now and notice a massive difference in my energy levels (ironically) and also my headaches are much less! 🙌

It feels amazing knowing someone can relate! I had my VERY first and hopefully my last dislocation 2 weeks ago. I faint when I have to take it off to shower😂 it’s so hard to forget and to not worry, I’m 2 weeks in and don’t use crutches and I can wobble around with my brace on! Honestly it was hard and a struggle to find confidence but I’m exited to heal. This has taught me to BE MORE CAREFUL W MYSELF!! Anyone reading look for exercises they HELPED me so much and really gave me confidence in myself we will be fine and just take time to focus on you mind (PTSD, trauma from it)! I’m so scared it will happen again but ik I’ll be fine!

I dislocated mine on september 2023 but luckily it came back to its place instantly. I did 15 sessions of physiotherapy and now I'm starting rehabilitation to be able to go the gym safely. In all this time I did my life as normal, went to classes, ran, went clubbing. But one thing is for sure, once this happens you are terrorized for life 😩

One of my client have recurrent patella dislocation condition. I've been training with her for more than 10 years and still training with her. In all that years she only dislocated 1 time and it was the time when I was absent from training with her for some time. As of now she's very active with exercise and surfing, hiking etc. Alhamdulillah
