Don't know exactly where you can source them. But they are just acital, delrin, nylon, pvc extruded machinable plastic bar stock. EBay, machinest suppliy shop etc you can source. A fellow Aussie named Cheng has done a cheap machine available in some countries he has suppliers in the US. It's called the ugly annealer. He is supplying nicely built machines for the same cost as I was building them for when I made v2 of black Betty annealers.

Hi, I've just built one of these. I used to same type of motors and power supply you used. I'm wondering how you wired it up to one switch? When I switch mine on both motors tend to pulse rather than spin constantly. If I disconnect a wire on the second motor then switch on, the first motor runs ok and if I touch the lose wire to the second motor they both run. It's as if 12v isn't enough to start both motors simultaneously. Can not work it out. I may need a switch for each motor. Cheers from Adelaide.

Couldn't you have used 1 speed controller for both motors? Could have saved a little money. If they are placed slightly out of phase and spinning the same rpm, wouldn't this work with one less controller?

I built one very similar, using a microwave turntable A.C motor with a speed of 10rpm (rotation every 6 seconds) Didn't have space for it when I moved house, but still have the motor, I'll make another one soon.

Brilliant, mate! Really first class idea. But why the two motors? Why not one motor driving two identical pulleys or sprockets, so the two rotors always stay in time with one another? Surely there’s no point in having them rotate at different rates.

It's been mentioned time and time again. It was just for the simplistically. Without having to make standoffs, pulleys belts bearings etc. The later version added just a inductive sensor that turned the feeder drum off and worked off the single pwm.

Thanks for posting the videos Skip. I'm in the process of getting the items together to make mine. I'm hoping you can help me out with a bit of info?...... How have you got the small black "feeder wheel" to stop once it drops a piece of brass down the "slide" and onto the main wheel? And secondly, What is the black wheel made of, and could you give me it's dimensions, including the size of the cut-out you have made for the .223/6.5CM/.308? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. J.

It's a inductive normal closed prox sensor. 4mm detection. Dunno what they worth now, about $10odd. The round case feeder is made from 50mm delrin or acetal or hdpvc. Delrin is common. The hole is from memory 8mm and a 5mm grub screw used to attach the shaft of motor. Slot size depends on the case. 10mm-14mm will cover your cases. You can cut as many slots you like in the feeder wheel and use a block/blanker or some dome head screws to blank of slots not in use. Skip

I like your setup! The simpler the better. If I could make a suggestion on your flame. I may be wrong but in my experience with propane torches you have the flame too close. Ideally you want the tip of the blue flame just barely touching the object. Or in this case the brass case. If you hold too close you will not get the full effect of the heat from the flame. Try making some small adjustments until you have the flame just right on the case. You may even need to reduce the flame some to prevent over heating. You could dial up the speed and anneal faster. Your choice in that one. Thanks for the video!

I'm just starting to build one now, prototype made. I went round on hard rubbish day and got an old microwave, (for the motor)! I used the 240volt AC motor, plugs straight into the wall, gives you a full revolution in 24 seconds. (also spent nothing!)

Before you make these super machines. Look for the right temperature for properly annealing your brass. They will tell you that you need tempilaq to get the correct brake temperature. This is nonsense, use what they used to in the past. dark red, two orange. 750 ° F tempilaq will give you stress relife (longer case life) but will not give you reduced hardness (cool release).

Skip here, sorry for a belated response. The build was a cheap one, only thing I brought was the project box. Everything else I had on hand. Modified worm gears 2x110rpm 12volt worm gears, a 1amp quick blow fuse fuse. On off toggle switch and a 2amp power supply same as ones with the annealers. Cut shafts and tap hole for required thread. Pretty basic, and can be built with basic tools. If you had to buy everything, your looking to be in it $40-50 depends on your currency and exchange rate.

Big Gun Hi mate, I haven’t made any in a year, time prohibitive, not much interest to warrant the big outlay upfront to build them and time in the shed. There has been peak interest over last month, but as said. If not in Aus shipping gets very expensive quite quick depending on location
