The business model we know works with gas stations is with a store. Gas stations don't make profit from the gas sales it's all the store. Travelers also need air pumps for tires, bathrooms, windshield washer tools, food, drinks, etc. Just because you drive an EV doesn't mean you don't need those things.

I haven’t been much of a reader since having kids, and even before then I was always a slow reader. I picked this up completely randomly while at the beach this week and devoured it in less than a day! There were so many elements of this story and the writing that I absolutely loved I just couldn’t put it down, so happy I decided to pick it up in the first place!

I do however want to share my perspective regarding your assertion that "the majority Muslims want to share in modernity, rather than violent jihad, etc..." In my view, that the "majority of Muslims" only want to enjoy the technological, and life comforts that modernity provides, not the fundamental philosophical thinking behind modernity/modernism/modernization.
