No oil should be present when you take that cover off unless the filter is leaking, no?

How is the clutch pull for a 2008? My fjr was pretty stiff. Sat on a 2014 model with a very easy pull.

Hi there how tall are you? What do you think is the max body size to be able to fit your legs behind the RT fairing? Heard som complaints about taller people not being able to fit their legs… Thank for the great video BTW👍

Hmm, hard to say. I'm 1,87 m and have no problems. My brother is a little bit shorter, but maybe has longer legs because he always complained when he rode my bike that he couldn't fit his legs properly behind the fairings. So, the only way is to make a test ride. Good luck!

Very good video. But Judging the time to clean the engine casing and the mirror it’s going to take a long long time to dry a car ?

Beautiful, practical bike. Would you recommend it to budget motorcyclists? Are they as reliable as a Japanese bike, and how much do they cost to maintain/repair? I hear most shops don't work on these anymore. Cheers.

Yes, absolutely invest in a K series. I don't even want a shop working on my anything. They over charge and under preform. I love older vehicles because they are built to a standard not a price. Today they are extremely great values. You also qualify for classic insurance. I had the opportunity to purchase a 1985 K100 LT in 98% condition 79,213 miles on it from BMW collector's son. The gentleman passed away and I loaded it up for $2,000. I have never seen a used bike so clean in all my life. I truly have a hard time believing it has that many miles. Yes, absolutely invest in a K series.

Big mistake not filling up with fresh oil the new filter. One should top it up with oil before installing. You are teaching wrong here.

I was about to look it up in the Haynes manual, but I sold it recently since I no longer have the K75. The forums I looked at also don't agree: some say you have to top it up, others say it doesn't matter. I've never topped it up and had no problems afterwards. Remember that there will always be some oil left in the system. It's not that you're running the engine without any oil in it and also, it's only for a couple of seconds. Always a nice topic for any conversation at a motorcycle meetup ;-)

lovely bike pal i had a 05 back in 18 through to 19 then sold it it was the grey model no cruise on it been riding z1000sx 2015 and gen 1 tuono but the only bike i have regretted selling was the rt so 2 weeks ago i purchased one 2005 needing a few jobs 41000 miles panniers but not original topbox cruise control same grey as last one servo brakes removed i have kept other bikes honestly i have ridden and owned dozens of bikes but k26 05 to 09 rt is my favourite i even test rode a 1250 in 2020 for 2 hours but still i prefer the k26 much nicer looking too stay safe bro

I ride a K75T which I purchased new. Never had to do more than an occasional battery and regular oil and fluid changes. It has never left me on the side of the road and I have been told by former K75 owners that they never should have sold theirs. Recently I bought a 2004 R1150RT with 5000 mi. on it so my wife can ride with me in comfort. Not near as smooth as the K-bike and very "buzzy" through the handlebars. Guess which one is going for sale? (FYI - Not the wife).

Nice bike.. nice video.. I have a k100 LT.. 1989 model.. it’s too big for me.. and heavy.. however.. anyone thinking of buying one of these.. let me tell you.. you get a lot of bike for reasonable money.. maybe not the most exciting bike in the world.. but very dependable..very stable on the long distance journey..☺️.. everything works on mine.. German Engineering for you.. remember it’s an 89 model.. clutch and gearbox is smooth as you like.. mine is reading 89000 miles.. and it purrs!!!! I’m selling her though.. but testimony to these bikes.. they do excactly what it says on the tin🤗.. happy safe riding..

awesome video! thanks so much. I'm having a bit of a problem with my k75 and was wondering if you had any thoughts. (I'm not a mechanic, just learning on my first project bike). Something is happening with the rear end of the bike. The back wheel feels "loose" and like it's slipping when I make turns. The wheel is connected correctly to the bike, and I am experiencing a "wobble" on the back end when making slight turns in the road. Any thoughts? Thanks again for the great videos

29 Euros (1070 Baht) delivered in Thailand. Even though you think the protection is "rubbish", any padding is better than no protection. The high Vis is and improvement over most garments even not considering the REMOVEABLE padded protection.

Be very interested to hear what you make of this. A few years back, I tried one out .. and liked it, but I ended up going for the K1200S (noted for having some niggles, at least a % of the early models, I sold mine and went back to the Green, perhaps over cautious, but I also like having bikes I can fix myself - Can-bus wiring not so good for this) Oh for the good old days of copper wiring, and carbs! :-)))

At last, your new bike ! I'm not keen on R models... and even more, on last BMW models... since K75 :D... But she looks beautiful. I'll be interested with your comparison R1200 vs K75. Of course, not the same generation !

I wonder if you will prefer one over the other. I would hate to have to decide which bike to ride each day. I think this K75 looks classic. Yours in all black is perfect. However, the R motors feel much more exciting and involving, to me.

What's your thought for starter bike? BMW K75 or BMW RT 1200?
@BMWK75Rider
@BMWK75Rider 4 жыл бұрын
@@SantoshDevara Hmm, that's a hard question. It also depends how much money you can spend on a bike. A K75 is relatively cheap and very easy to maintain yourself. It handles well but it is a heavy bike. The 1200 is easy to handle on the road but might be too big for a starter. Most important is: how do you feel? When I rode the K75 seven years ago I felt comfortable right from the start. I just had my license for two years, but that bike made me feel at ease and relaxt. So I bought it. And because it wasn't that expensive it wouldn't be the end of the world if I dropped it. Also the insurance was cheap, because of the age of the bike. You have to remember that if you are a less experienced driver the insurance is more expensive, especially in combination with an expensive bike. There is no such thing as a starter bike. Ride what you feel comfortable on and learn to stay in control of your right hand ;)

I'm sure you found it by now, but the cruise control screw is on the underside of the right hand control unit. What it really does is creates friction on the throttle return so when you let go it stays in place and doesn't drop the pull of the throttle. Enjoyed the commentary on the nature of the K bike.
