Hi mate. The Kawasaki Museum is large and interesting. The bike section is ok but should be bigger. Kobe itself is really nice. Great restaurants overlooking the sea and indeed the sea front itself is a nice place to be. Part of the sea front has been kept in the state it was after the Kobe Earthquake in 95 and it is a really an eye opener. In answer to your question, I would not go to Kobe just for the Kawasaki museum but as part of a trip to Kobe itself then it is worth visiting.

I am owner of zzr1200 and I hear 12r consume much fuel. Is that true, as I wont think of it if it spends 10l/100km of normal ride. I usually spend 5 to 6.5 l/100 with zzr1200. Chears

Nice! I just got the ZX-12R-A full power model just 2 weeks ago as well, it has the worst low-end torque out of the bikes I've owned (50cc,125cc,250cc,400cc) on top of the bike having a half burnt clutch made it harder to start from a stop but it's been the most fun to ride, the insane acceleration after I finally engage 1st gear is like an adrenaline shot! have fun and greetings from a Filipino (I'm in Japan though lol)

Hi, I am looking forward to getting it on the roads of Kaybiang. I am sure she is quick. I am used to the acceleration because I have the 14R as well. I just love these not electronic machines, just you and the bike. Bikes like the 12R are designed to thrive on high revs which is another thing I love. I am not a roll on in gear sort of rider, I like dancing on the gear lever. 🙂

I dont really measure but I suppose its about 6-7 liters per 100km. I tend to use the gearbox and never sit in top gear so I probably get it up to 8 on occasion. It is less than my 12r and 14r. Bime like these are not really for fuel saving. I suppose a rider could get much better fuel consumption by sticking it in top gear and riding at 100kph but what is the point of having these bikes if a rider rides like that.

Gosh. In for a pound, in for a penny! There is another known issue with them: oil will wick up the wires leading to the rotor & coils causing a failure. It passes up between the copper wires and insulator. The Kawasaki HQ fix for this is a squirt of superglue! I thought i'd escaped this particular gremlin but it struck on a ride to Switzerland. A costly fault as i had to replace the rotor, coils and HD leads. This was the bike, as a long time fan of over 40 yrs, i wanted kawasaki to make, but throughout lifelong ownership it pains me to say of all the kawasakis i've owned [zeds, gpzs, zzrs] this model has been the least reliable. On a trip to Spain one year it just stopped & no one could figure out what it was. Barcelona kawasaki were worse than useless. The bike was AA'd back to the UK where it sat at the local dealership in Leicester for a few months. It was eventually sorted and came down to a cam position sensor: an easy fix as you can reach it through the fairing without removing anything [10 minute fix for a problem that lasted months]. It feels a lot more top heavy, with a higher centre of gravity than the zzrs. I found i had to ride for some time before 'getting into the groove'. Gorgeous looking machine [arguably the best of the bunch] with blistering performance to match -- i had my C3, unrestricted, off the clock at Monza, so 200 mph is a real possibility [PCR3, full titanium Akro, BMC filters]. Would love to share some shots as it too is in the best colour!

Thanks for the comments mate. I am aware of the electrical issue. It aopears to have been more of an issue with the A's than with the later B's. Overall, according to all the owner forums I have read to be reliable although there are a few owners who seem to have been unlucky. I hope I am a lucky one.
@tenbear5
@tenbear5 Ай бұрын
@@MichaelZZRrider Yeah, i guess we all hoped that, but the reality is the electrics really aren't up to it. Perhaps it's because we've been forced to have DrLs [daylight running lights] with no effective lightswitch, i dunno... anyway, it's a proverbial pain and the Kawasaki fix is just daft. I was even considering getting the whole thing completely rewired [with a functioning light switch] but finding a competent electrical moto specialist is a problem, and the guy i did find was extortionate.

Hi mate the 600 is a great machine which is why it was produced for so many years. Any machine thst can do 150mph is fast. The 1100 is however in a different league. That road is one of the most dangerous roads. The video does not show it well but it is uphill, downhill. Off camber, covered in dust, gravel and mud. There is no room for error. I am on the right side of the road so not sure what you mean. Cows, monkees and multiple other wildlife just add to the fun. Indeed on that trip I went around the corner and there was a cow in the road. Add to all those things, brand new tyres, and never having written it around bends before meant things were taken at a moderate pace. Many of the bends are so sharp that 40kph is the maximum even if you are on an R6. Videos do not show what it is really like. They never do. The video is about the bike.

@@ricardobooker1704 Hi mate, the problem with E10 and older carb bikes is well documented. Indeed, when I called a mechanic friend he immediately knew the problem. The seals in the fuel tap failed which started the issue so I replaced the fuel tap. I also replaced the fuel pump, drained the oil and replaced the filter. I also only use Ethanol free petrol just to be safe. Not had any issues since. To be honest, I had never heard of this situation before it happened to me but once it had I researched online and found quite alot regarding it. E10 is a bugger however there are companies that are selling Ethanol resistant replacement seals. If, as is being suggested, Governments move to E15 or even E20 then everyone with older bikes will nead to replace the original seals. In the West most countries are using E5 which is not so harmful to the rubber seals. Great to hear that you still have your ZZR from 92. I had to sell mine when I moved to Asia but managed to get hold of this one 10 years ago. Ride safe mate.

Hi mate, great to here you bave joined the ZZR Club. There is a plastic cap on the top of the mirror arm. You need to lever that off with a small screwdriver. Unter the cap you will find a nut. Undo the nut and remove the mirrror. Make sure you take note of the way the parts fit together but it is not complicated. Clean and grease up the parts and put it all back together but do not overtighten the nut. The mirrors can be hard to move because the nut was over tightened and/or the moving parts are dirty. Take it easy when removing the plastic caps so as not to damage them.
