Not the biggest fan of the s160, plenty of issues with em after some time, built cheap and not to last, the 8f and wd 2-8-0 are much more reliable

A few highlights from each week, 1 day from the 2, would have worked. I can see why you love your NYMR holidays. How about you spend a holiday on a very different preserved railway next year? It's good to see different steam engines, I'm sure you'll agree. Variety is the spice of life.

What is it about watching a steamy bark up the Lickey Incline that you love so much? Bet you would give anything to ride behind a steamy along the route.

Amazing, requiring 2x diesel bankers.
@Shoddy1278 күн бұрын
Err, not sure by the sound that 44871 is making the 2 diesel bankers were required. Clearly more to it than that eg. a positioning move potentially or it was the diesel that hauled the tour from Derby & had to take back over at York.

Sign of our self proclaimed “modern” times isn’t it…. for a train like this to be carried by a glorified van on a glorified dirt path…..

Is there any particular steam engine you haven't captured on camera, which you'd like to see running on the main line?

Superb to see 60007 unassisted. I hope this becomes a more frequent sighting for LSL steam services.

I was there that day with my father, it was our goal for our bank holiday weekend trip to England: to ride a steam train in England, as we both like trains (though I'm the most enthusiastic train fan myself lol) Though it seems that we were there either before you were filming this video or after as we took the 12 pm service to Whitby hauled by steam locomotive LMS Class 5460 Eric Treacy Never mind, I'm in the video, I saw myself popping my head out of the carriage window in the first coach as my train reached Grosmont station, I actually forgot that I poked my head out at that moment 😂😂😂

It is a pity that diesels have to be attached to steam as it spoils the atmosphere.

This is always a frustration, but at least steam was out to play. Although, essentially, a DMU should have been called up. A DMU gives us a great Driver's Eye View. At least you didn't get stuck watching stinky boxes on wheels, so you can be happy about that.
