I have half the light set working. Tried every bulb on the unlit side and no luck. So what do you do when half the set is out? Guess I'll just get new lights!

Fantastic tool. Just purchased today at a local home improvement store. It was initially a little frustrating trying to locate the first problem with my pre-lit Christmas tree light set, as my tree was already decorated before the lights started failing. So I had to fight my way around all the ornaments and decorations trying to locate to voltage break. After finally finding the first issue, which was a bulb with a broken contact wire, I replaced the defective bulb with a new bulb, and suddenly, a whole section of lights returned to being lit up. This gave me encouragement to find the other problems, and now my whole Christmas tree is lit again. Thank you Lightkeeper Pro!

Works as expected. Read the instructions. I just repaired 3 strings and each string had a slightly different problem this tool could diagnose perfectly - 1 bad shunt, 1 bad bulb, and 1 bad socket.

The bulb puller you demonstrate here does not fit my Balsam Prelit Tree bulbs. The plastic base is too large to fit in the hole of the tool. I have yet to find an easy way to pull out these bulbs.

Man it was a better time to be alive back then. Sigh

If you have to buy a new current limiter just buy new lights

UGH!!! NOPE! Doesn't work!!

So I attached the socket of one of the lights that were out. I clicked the trigger as indicated. Now all of the clear bulbs that were out are blackened instead of clear!!?!!! Not helpful at all!

This works, BUT Putting the tree to bed today, I went through the five sections of the tree to fix secti9ons that were bad. These lights are wired to the tree: 1. It wont find a loose bulb. That was my problem on two sections that I found by accident. intermittent

Our lights do not go out. They ‘blink’ and just turn white. It is a handful of them. When we turn the power off those lights stay lit and colorful. It’s here and there. Sometimes it can go for a week without an issue. Anybody with any ideas?

The problem is that 10 years later, after this video was made, they've changed the net lights. Now, there are hooks at the top of the bulb to string them together. There is no way to insert the bulb housing into the trigger pull. It doesn't fit.

For a 10-year-old video this has remarkably clear video and audio. I appreciated the lucid and "enlightening" (haha) explanation. Two thumbs up!

A nce adjustment of my problem. I developed much of the plans but 1) 20 pulses.. I was told 3, I used 5 or 6!! 2) I have a wired angel about 5' x 7' who has the metal conduction of the signal. The mini bulbs are next to each other. Over 30 years, I have had to pull the bulbs and test them as I thought the signal was carried by the steel frame. It has been a challenge as all worked until I hauled the angel to the location. The left lobe of the "skirt" is dead. Concerning the conduction of the signal on the steel wire, it has been a bear. I appreciate your lessons. I found the "Lightkeeper" back then, then about 10 years later I came across the Pro.

So saw this. Bought it. Middle of light string is out. The click thing didn’t do anything at all, tested every single bulb and all tested fine but still doesn’t work.

I wish I'd watched this a few years ago when our expensive prelit garland failed, or my very expensive tree with light failure back around the time this video was first posted! Dealing with light issues on my current tree - just ordered the right bulbs and a LightKeeper Pro - and now watching this video so I can (hopefully) save my current prelit tree's lights for this Christmas season! Before you send your money on this Check to see if you can find replacement LED lights. I found burnt bulbs . But can't find replacements. You can not just use any LED. Each string is bulb specific.

I bought mine at a garage sale for a couple bucks. Nothing works as advertised anymore and I expected the same here, but I had enough hope to waste $2 on it. I've been working on this outdoor reindeer with a tangled mess of circuits and half the reindeer wouldn't light no matter what I did. Well Son of a Bitch, as sleepy Joe exclaimed after his criminal extortion of Ukraine... It worked. It took me all of 2 minutes to get the reindeer lit, and that's only because I was using it for the first time. Unbelievable. It actually worked. I think I'll put this under lock and key.

I got this tool and tried it but only the top of the tree lit up. How do I fix the bottom?

My voltage detector just goes off when I put it near anything, including me and my ladder. Then sometimes it doesn't go off by the wire, but when I double-check, it goes off again... so confusing.
