Thank you for posting this. We have a 15-year old pre-lit incandescent tree - 7.5 ft with 1800 lights on it. Every year, I spend hours trying to get portions of it to work. Your video was very helpful with using the tool and tracing down where the issue was. It turned out to be a "fuse bulb" which is why nothing else worked. I finally was able to locate a replacement and now my tree is gorgeous again. Of course, it took me all day so there's no ornaments yet. LOL. But this video was extremely helpful!

Thank you! This was tricky, but it saved our beautiful blue tree! The chirp can sometimes vary and respond to other nearby bulbs, so be very methodical and take your time. Once we finally found the bulb, our problem was that the internal wire connectors in the socket were bent and I couldn't get them back in place. It took multiple tries with the socket repair function (20+ clicks in different positions) but it worked! So happy with this amazing tool, saved us a fortune and a beloved sentimental piece of our holidays.

Great Video! Saved me a huge hassle. Tree was not lighting up when connecting the sections but your soap solution helped make the connection solid. Thank you.

Great video. The one thing that pisses me off a bit is that the box the tree came in says, "Lights will work even if one or more bulbs are burnt out." That doesn't seem correct to me.

Thank you for posting this video! This is exactly what I needed to see. A pen voltage detector and about 30 minutes and I don't have to spend $500 on a new tree. Thank you!

I have a perplexing issue with my pre lit tree. I have about a 1 foot area that is about 18 inches from the top of the tree that won't light up. I purchased your Lightkeeper Pro and did managed to get a lot of the other strings to light up. I followed your recommendation and went from branch to branch and never found a dead zone. I then went from branch to branch testing each bulb that I could find and they all tested good. What could be the problem?
@LightKeeperProTool
@LightKeeperProTool 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Erv, We are happy to hear that the LightKeeper Pro was able to get those other strings working. The culprit is not always the bulb, it could be the bulb wires (one may be bent or broken, yet long enough to make contact within the bulb tester). The culprit could also be the socket. Let's first focus on where the tool is guiding us with the Audible Voltage Detector. Now, you mentioned you could not find a "dead zone" -- if you had constant beeping throughout, you want to remember the items covered in the video such as grounding the tree with your spare hand and be sure not to mix up "chirping" with constant beeping. That is covered in our Audible Voltage Detector video. You can find this video on our website or our LKP KZbin Channel. Pre-lit trees can be tricky, but please don't hesitate to call us if you should have any questions to speak to a technician as sometimes Q & A can assist best. Technicians are available 7 days a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas (888-858-2548).

My tree lit fine at the start of the season. Now I notice the upper half is not lit. There has been no movement of the tree so I do not think it is a loose bulb. Do you think it is a shunt. The other half of this strand lights. It is a pre lit tree.
@LightKeeperProTool
@LightKeeperProTool 4 жыл бұрын
The LightKeeper Pro will tell you what the issue is -- if you perform the Quick Fix Trigger Method of repair and the lights come on, then we know it was a shunt issue and some bad bulbs that were keeping that section from illuminating.

Our lights do not go out. They ‘blink’ and just turn white. It is a handful of them. When we turn the power off those lights stay lit and colorful. It’s here and there. Sometimes it can go for a week without an issue. Anybody with any ideas?

How do I know what the problem is? My tree failed after having it on for a few months, I leave it up till spring. None of the lights are lighting now. It's a small tree with multicolor lights built in, a white table top tree about 2-3 feet tall.

Please don't hesitate to give us a call at our toll free number (888-858-2548 M-F 9am - 5pm CST; 7 days a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas) to speak to a technician as some further Q&A may be beneficial here. However, in the meantime, we recommend a visual check assuming you are working with traditional, incandescent bulbs: Do you notice any bulbs that contain a blackened mark on the glass? Do you notice any breaks in the wires? Any missing or broken bulbs? If no is the answer to the above, you may require one of our tools to assist you in determining the "bad" bulb(s) or other factors that may be keeping the light set from illuminating. If you are working with incandescent light sets, the LightKeeper Pro will be your hero. If working with LED lights, you will require the LED Keeper.

Between two lit lights, one of the two wires that connected them was bad. How can this be?
@LightKeeperProTool
@LightKeeperProTool 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Karla, maybe more clarification is needed on the LightKeeper Pro. If you are using the Audible Voltage Detector, it is not designed to work on lit light sets. We always want to stay focused on the unlit sections. Please feel free to give us a call at our toll free number as we are happy to assist further -- 888-858-2548. Our technicians are available 7 days a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
